Just updated signature with spends today at Home Bargains, Farm Foods & the Co Op. I got to the Co Op just as they were doing their reductions which was surprising really as it was only about 2 o'clock. I managed to get 800g of good mince for £2 & 4 Elmwood chicken breasts for £3, a whole cucumber for 40p, a packet of Rolo cookies for 60p & a box of Special k for 60p (cos the box was a bit damaged). Only thing is I forgot to get my 6 1st class stamps that I requested & paid for so will have to try going back tomorrow to see if I can sort that out!
Thanks Mothership & Spiggle for the advice re the tomato fertiliser. I will definitely get some. Both my kids seem to be keen to water the plants at the moment which is nice & helps to remind them where a lot of the food actually comes from!
I hadn't realised Spiggle that it is tomorrow that you go in, so wishing you lots of luck there.) You may well be right about what my true budget figure should be & no of course, I don't mind you suggesting it but I am going to persevere with the £450 for now because firstly my DS is now on a different insulin regime & in theory doesn't need all the snacks that he used to need and secondly the eldest SS is actually having dinner less & less now at our house (he prefers to be at his GF's!) so really I am no longer feeding 6 people half of the week so there is kind of no excuse now for not meeting target!Grocery aim £450pm.Spent £519 August, £584 July, £544 June, £541 May, £549 April, £517 March, £517 Feb,£555 Jan, £573 Dec, £465Nov, £561Oct, £493Sept, £426Aug,£496 Jul, £528Jun, £506May,£498April, £558 March, £500Feb, £500 Jan, £490 Dec, £555 Nov,£566 Oct, £505Sept, £450Aug, £410 July, £437 June, £491 May, £471 April, £440 March, £552Feb, £462Jan0 -

Newbie to the thread.
Can I have £120 for May please?
I'm averaging about £200 a month but I really must reduce this. I'll be away for several days at the end of May so although the drop is £80 it shouldnt be too painful.
I'm going to be keeping a spending diary in May, hopefully that will help me stick to target. I also have a full freezer/fridge so it's a positive start.0 -
Have I missed something? I didn't realise Spiggles op had been re-scheduled for tomorrow?
If it has, I wish you all the best hun :kisses3:
