Hello! Hope everyone has had a happy Christmas! We spent another £30 on Christmas Eve so i have updated sig, we haven't got much money left until January so hopefully we will be forced to stay within our budget! Plus side.. we went to family for Christmas Lunch and they offered us the turkey remains as they wouldn't eaten anymore.. there is loads of meat on it!!!! (including both legs!) So hopefully i will be inventive with that for a couple of days!August: £149/£150
Sept: £200

Spent £50 on dinner yesterday which will be coming ouut of the Grocery budget

Mornin' all.
OH and I have just tucked into a really nice plateful of ham, bubble & squeak and onion white sauce. Absolutly yumm and easy on a lazy boxing day.
Hope you all had a good Christmas, I'm planning a good few NSD's next month (Dec ends tomorrow in the JJ household) as the fridge and freezers are groaning so I shall have no reason to buy much.
Though I might pop into Asda tomorrow as the usually reduce lots of the Xmas stuff..........I think I need to be restrained:rotfl:0 -
thought today was going to be a nsd but eggs arrived (thanks to friend who buys for me as well as herself! ) £3.25 a tray of 30 free range, and only had 5 left from last buy so good job as am planning on making yorkshires and puds for tomorrow.
today we have eaten hardly anything, bacon butty each at 11 and roast dinner at 3.30. no desire for pud from anyone...
have stripped and boiled off carcass of todays chicken, 2 pints of stock in freezer for rissottos and two bags of roast chick meat for either currys or rissotto or whatever in january As an appetite supressant when full after lunch the stock pot boiling for me continues the full to the brim sensation! maybe thats why we didn't have pudding...
Tomorrow going to cook off the rest of the chickens and will strip and freeze what is left from them when my guests go home. The shed has been ideal as an extra fridge, have put a thermometer out there and it has been between 1 and 5 degrees whenever i've popped out to get bits.
I got apples and pears whoopsied on xmas eve so if not used tomorrow may make some chutneys from them.
at some point over the next few days i need to do a freezer and cupboard list, and possibly set a very low budget for january for food given the freezers are brimming...
