We had the rain during the night & at the mo there's enough blue to make a pair of dutchman's trousers:D behind the white cauliflower clouds.
1. I think charity shops are a blessing! I'm sorry but I've forgotten who mentioned them yesterday...but to get school uniform is a double double bonus in my book, cuz you can't avoid spending on things like that....if it had been a La de Da ball gown reduced fromm zillions to mere thousands...now that WOULD have been false economy:p
2. Someone else also mentioned starting up an excursion company, & for a minute there I had visions of coach loads of GCers descending upon poor MrMc doorstep like a pilgrimage to Our Lady of The Whoopsie:rotfl:But then, I may just enjoy being escorted off the premises by a hunky MP or two;)
3. A recipe from the back of a packet of Atora suet...not yet tried.
Mini Goat's Cheese, Pear & Walnut Quiche. SERVES 4
The Pastry
100g(4oz) self-raising flour
50g(2oz) Atora Original or Light suet
2-3 tbls cold water
The Filling
1 medium egg, beaten
6 tbls milk
4 pears, peeled, cored & sliced
200g(8oz) goat's cheese, sliced
3 walnuts, shelled & chopped
Add salt & pepper to taste
You will also need 4 non-stick Yorkshire pudding tins or tart cases
1 Preheat oven to 200C,400F, Gas 6. For fan assisted ovens, refer to your manufacturers instructions. Lightly grease your pudding tins or case.
2 Make the pastry by mixing together the flour, Atora, salt & pepper. Stir in enough water to make a firm but not sticky dough. Divide into four pieces, roll out & use to line your pudding tins/ case.
3 To make the filling, mix together the egg & milk & then the seasoning. Pour the mixture evenly into the tins. Decorate with the pear slices & bake for 10mins.
4 Top with the goat's cheese & chopped walnuts & bake for a further 5-10mins or until golden brown.
There's an address for a 39 page cookbook too. Make cheques payable to Atora Not Just Dumplings, for £1:50 to cover cost of p&p to The Atora Kitchen, POBox 100, Blackburn, Lancs BB8 1GR. UK applications only. HTH.Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Thanks nesquic80, it was http://www.supermarketspecialoffers.com/ that I was thinking of.
Really really naffed off with myself now, because they were 4 for £2, when I thought they were the same as Mr T at 4 for £1!! I think I need new glasses!!0 -
Can anyone help me? I can't seem to find the website I usually use to check supermarket bargains. I thought Mullerlights were on offer 4 for £1 in Sainsburys - just got my receipt out to discover they've taken a poor 16p off mine not £1.16 so I've paid 50 each!!
They are 4 for a £1 in Mr T at the moment, not sure about sainsburys.
The site I use is fixtureferrets - but to get the bigger bargains you have to subscribe for about £5 a yearworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
