WHAT DO PEOPLE MEAN WHEN THEY SAY RUBBER CHICKEN??
here's a post all about different ways to use a chicken, and make it last...... there'll be loads of good ideas on there for you
just got back from Mr M....i saw the 50p diced chicken breast we've all been [STRIKE]hoarding [/STRIKE]buying and they've put 2 boxes into one and are now charging £3.79!!! so glad i stocked up! they obvoiusly ordered too much in, and now the offer's finished, they're selling it at a massive profit!
i treated myself to 5 bottles of the Surf Small & Mighty cos it was down to £2 a bottle (£1 off) and i love the smell!! i know i said i'm gonna have to tighten my belt, but i couldn't resist! it'll last me about 5 months tho, cos i only use it on ''nice'' washing.....i don't waste it on jeans and socks etc!!
took Dylan to the vets this morning to have his baby teeth pulled out...i'm just waiting for a phone call to say i can go and pick him up. thank god for my mum, who's lent me the money to pay for it. i gave her a bag of twinks to say thank you, but she said that doesn't get me out of paying her back :rotfl:
hope everyone's well and enjoying the miserable weather!0 -
Someone else also mentioned starting up an excursion company, & for a minute there I had visions of coach loads of GCers descending upon poor MrMc doorstep like a pilgrimage to Our Lady of The Whoopsie:rotfl:But then, I may just enjoy being escorted off the premises by a hunky MP or two;)
Brilliant, I love men in uniform....:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Mrs M, you are indeed OUR lady of the Whoopsie....
PS: BigMummaF have just found a really easy way for you to put stuff in quotes - highlight the sentence you want quoted, then click on the quote button (yellow balloon type thing with dots in), which is the one next to the picture button (yellow, looks like mountains with a sun above). Hope that makes it easier for you.LBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0 -

Made really yummy kiwi muffins last night ( thanks for the recipe whoever supplied it!!) and banana bread which turned out alot better than my last attempt!! Does anyone know if there are any Mr M's 50 p offers on?
Have a great day everyone!!:DGC July £110/£97.21 already spent:rolleyes:

Sorry guys and gals but I think I failed on the monthly budget but it's almost impossible to stick to when doing an annual challenge as well. This is down to the fact that stockpiling mode kicks in whenever I get the chance to visit a large supermarket like Mr A or Mr T (we only have Co-op here). I was en route home from long weekend visiting rellies and passed Mr ~A... except I didn't pass, I stopped and went in, expecting to spend nothing more than the £10 gift voucher I had received. Hmm... that got spent on pressies and then I spent what I call a fortune on whoopsied turkey, stew, sausages, steak pies, reduced fresh orange, bread rolls etc, etc, etc. I may need to keep away from any town with a supermarket for the next month or 2! :rotfl: Signature updated to reflect the fact that I now have only £168.75 to last me 20 weeks if I'm to keep within an annual budget of £1000.
PS: I do have a full storecupboard, full kitchen cupboards, full fridge and full freezer, so I reall only need to buy the occasional chicken, fruit, veg and milk. (I also collect Mr T clubcard points whenever I can, and haven't spent any this year. Glad to hear they are on their way soon.)I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

I have been lurking on this board as I am new to all of this and i am so impressed how people have cut their grocery budget. I thought i would have a go. I spend about £100 a week:eek: for 2 adults 2 teenagers which includes household stuff and cat food.
this week after trying really hard i ended spending £110:eek: clearly I am doing this wrong ( in my defence DD1 14 came and put in about £10 of stuff in .
I need some pointers please

Hi Sistercas, don't despair - it might be that you were spending more before but because you weren't keeping a close eye on it, you thought it was only £100 - it get scary sometimes when you start adding up the receipts but at least you know where everything is going now and that's a start - now the only way is up, (as Yazz would say!)
AngelNikki has given us a lovely list on page one of this thread - it has loads of recipes and hints and tips for you, PLUS she has just put on some great GC hints and tips, so it is well worth checking out that post before you go any further (just go to page one and scroll down).
Hope that helps, Den xLBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0 -
