Check Check Check your estimated energy bill
Naughty naughty e.on. I gave them a reading in March, they estimated at the end of the month and have an actual reading now. Seems their estimation algorithm has suggested that I used NOTHING in March when prices were cheaper and EVERYTHING in April when the new charges are in place that are double. Just worth checking - I…

Annoying spam email titles
I keep receiving spam emails titled "Congratulations, you've been chosen"; well, I haven't chosen you, so clear off!The other ones which frequently appear are "This is your last chance to ..."; great, so does than mean you're going to stop sending them then?Of course, I have junk rules, so they're wasted on me anyway.

Trust Pilot reviews.
Do not trust them. I left a bad review - about parcelcompare who I had a diabolically terrible experience with - and parcelcompare had it removed! No sh*t! Then I learned that trust pilot gets their money from the clients - and the clients can get reviews removed anytime they like! Do not trust this review platform.

Homeprotect Insurance
I was trying to contact Homeprotect in order to decline their kind offer to automatically renew my home insurance when I noticed an old post on your site about other customers experience of dramatic price increases year on year. I realise that insurance companies tend to use automatic renewal of policies to their advantage…

Gatwick Airport - rip off parking
I noticed last week and again this week that Gatwick Airport are suggesting it necessary to pre-book all parking as they are busy. I know it is Easter but they still have the same number of short term car parks open now as they did before the pandemic - 3 at South and 2 at North. Collecting my daughter from a flight…

Is this a parcel scam or what?
I have had a really strange experience with a parcel. I have a facebook account which I virtually never use. Last December I got an e-mail from facebook saying my sister in law had posted something. This in itself was odd as I never get these facebook e-mails, I have unsubscribed from them all. I logged on and could find…

Be Careful! PetrolPrices.com
Many of you I am sure uses the above to keep an eye on petrol prices. They have partnered with various websites that come with offers via email and can be shall we say less than desirable to the point of possible rip offs. I had an email this morning from Petrol Prices promoting cheaper than cheap prices which made me very…

Amazon Prime - Warehouse discounts - Vent moving towards praise
To give Amazon credit - over the last couple of years they've performed pretty well for everything I've ordered and needed with minimal slip-ups. That was until the last two weeks where they had a promo on their warehouse stock (as mentioned on MSE) with 20 percent off a number of lines. Over the space of a few days I…

British Gas Homecare, the good and the bad.
I never expected to have anything positive to say about BG Homecare given the way they have messed people about over the past few years, but I have. My original appointment for boiler service in March was cancelled by them and rescheduled for 6th April. Early afternoon on 5th April I received a call from BG which I…

Beefeater “Mums Eat Free” voucher for Mothers Day
We received a Beefeater “Mums Eat Free” voucher for Mothers Day 27th March. I booked for 8 people and had a great meal served by friendly staff. There was a set menu for Mothers Day starting with 2 courses for £16.95 or 3 courses for £19.95. When I tried to use the voucher I was told that it did not apply to the set menu…

Very mis-delivery, and mis-representation
Very is one of the hardest companies to contact and in my experience least concerned about meeting contractual obligations. It is not my usual practice to publicly call out a company but I think that people should be aware that, from my example, you cannot rely on the Very website. I have spent over 2 hours on the 'phone…

Coventry City Household support fund voucher
mum received this last week in the post. Took a while for me to manage to get the voucher. Anyone heard of this before? My thoughts are how complicated is this, I wonder how many will go unclaimed. AND why ban alcohol, petrol, tobacco, stamps , lottery and phone top ups? if this is how someone chooses to spend their money,…

Hi I wanted to share my experience , vent and see if anyone has any answers or similar experiences. Do not trust the claimed on year warranty from Music Magpie. I bought a phone for my daughter £270+, it was fine. Stopped working 6 months later. Sent it back no problem under warranty they they reported back that it had…

Vehicle warranty - why do we not get the full period of cover?
No doubt I will get loads of answers telling me I am wrong but honestly, I can’t see how they justify this. However, I do think it is wrong that a car warranty for, say, a year, only actually applies for around 10 or 11 months. The reason I say this is because although we know of an issue now, a month before the warranty…

Trying to cancel a furniture order
Hi, I ordered to items of furniture through Designer Sofas at the Ideal Home Show, only to realise the following day neither would fit in the rooms. I had paid a deposit on each order. I have now trying to get my deposits back and cancel the orders but they are telling me that I signed their Ts&Cs - “It is important that…

British gas and LCS
So I sold my house to a developer as a part of a part exchange deal. We completed and moved out 2 days later 27th October 20 infant. I've received a letter from LCS saying I owe £345 for energy usage over a period dating 27th oct 2020 to Feb 2021 I told British gas of the move and they closed the account and everything for…

TSOhost - Warning
Just a quick warning on TSOhost when making new purchases. Purchased a new domain name tonight for a project we've been working on since last week, and on going to pay their website has not asked for card details and simply processed using the details on file. A sub-£10 debt effectively from me to a company I own isn't a…

Shark vacuum offer...misleading link
Hi I ordered a Shark vacuum yesterday through the link from MSE and having clicked on the WV361UKT link was taken to the Shark site and what I thought was the 2 battery option which I ordered. I used the MSE60 code. It arrived today and it is the 1 battery model. I checked the order receipt and it was listed as the WV361UK…
