Postcode Lottery Email

Had the strangest email today, very poor attempt of a scam email. I have reported it as a phishing email and deleted. Just letting you know in case you get one....

An error has occured on PRODUCTION, in the workflow where we load the cmt_player.csv file.
It failed on 20221130.

Workflow: Load Players

Please attend to the workflow to see the origin of the error, rejects of the uploaded target, investigate why no file was found in the "S3 bucket" and consult the logs and profiles.

@postcodelottery

😂😂😂😂😂

Now... Although it said it came from a postcode lottery email address, its clearly not. Im assuming they expect you to reply to them...please report x

    Its not a scam. Just their website is broken. This would have been a notification for their developers/programmers that there was an error but instead of sending only to staff it went out to all users.

    My system puts emails like this into spam anyway so I'd just probably have a quick look and delete.

    Hopefully their system will be up and running soon, although I don't participate in postcode lottery. There are only 14 properties on our street so I don't really think we're going to win, especially as my neighbours don't participate either.

  • I had this as well, but we don't even do the Postcode lottery

    That's not how it works... Fewer people on your street playing actually means a larger share of any really big prizes (although any individual property can only win a maximum of 10% of the overall prize money).

    For regular prizes everybody who plays on the street gets the same money — so if anybody at all on your street is playing then your postcode is part of the draw and you'll miss out if it randomly comes up. A lot of people on our street were kicking themselves for not playing when our postcode came up for a £1,000 prize last year.

    Won a couple of tenners over past two years.  Now that we’re paying a (substantial?) fee for Jason Donovan to appear in the adverts I don’t see my rate of winning getting any better
