Lowest EPC rating i have seen
Went into town today and walking past an estate agent i looked in the window as i often do and saw a fairly average looking 3 bed semi (80s maybe) advertised as with double glazing and gas central heating but the thing that caught my eye was the EPC rating was 25 band F.

RTS switch off Economy 7
I read an Ofgem article over the weekend about the switch off of RTS. We have Economy 7 as our house is all electric (no gas in the village and it was all electric when we bought it). We installed new Dimplex Quantum heaters a couple of years ago. With careful use and timers on virtually everything we use 85% on the night…

EDF Exit Fees
It is very frustrating that on every bill (monthly) it has a message that says I could save money by switching tariff but also reminds me that there is an early exit fee. I thought it was prudent to take out a fixed deal when the prices were increasing ever higher in 2012 with no talk about possible subsidies. But in what…

Unusual gas bills following meter replacement

Octopus electricity to increase standing charge by 19.6% on 15 Feb 2024
Octopus Energy will be increasing their electricity standing charge on 15th February 2024 to 49.77p a day [£181.66/annum] from currently 41.61p/day, which is a 19.6% increase. The current rate of inflation is 5.25% hence 19.6% is 3.7 times the current rate of inflation, which is stealth profiteering.

British Gas
How do I get my £727.38 back from British Gas as quoted on my final bill, when they tell me via chat I’m only £62 in credit. I left them in Nov 23 and I’m still trying to get my credit back. They seem to have two systems and are only looking at the lower figure but the final statement I’ve got has the correct final meter…

Eonnext fix
Why do they do this?!? Have been on a 2 year fix at 27.63p and 58.45p per day. Direct debit of £70 per month. That's about £10 to £15 above actual usage. The account is £400.91 in credit. Deal is coming to an end, so signed up for Next secure 12 month v 4. This is 23.31p and 50.69p per day. Both cheaper than previous deal.…

EDF Fix - Free Escape
I was on a fix ending May 2024. Tried calling to move to SV, no joy, cannot authorise fee waivers. Went onto the WhatsApp chat, requested to move to SV without the 2 x £150 fees, after a bit of back and forth the agent advised they would waive any fees. She was unable to do the tariff change herself but advised me to do it…

Eon Next customer service
We started complaining to Eon next in February 2023, after our bills sky rocketed in November 2022. We were receiving bills for £300-500 per week and had no choice to pay them, despite emailing weekly and calling to say that we live in a modest 3 bed house, this cannot be correct! The gas was the most expensive and we…

Northern Gas and Power.
I am looking for other people who have had a similar experience to my own. I was mis-sold a new energy and gas contract by Northern Gas and Power. Without wanting to go into too much detail on the matter. I was recently mis-sold a contract by Northern Gas and Power on one of their ‘blend and extend’ contracts. What I was…
