Outfox Energy seem to have fixed my E7 smart meter to charge day rate 24/7.
Outfox took over my supply 31 July and it took a while for my IHD to show the correct prices. It did swap over to Economy 7, albeit half an hour later than my previous supplier, EDF. They hadn't told me, so got caught with charging my thermal store for 30 minutes at day rate, but simply changed the timer. Took meter readings morning and night and all was good. The IHD displays the times and rates and the cost was accurate. However, after 10 days, despite the IHD still giving me correct rates/times, I found all my E7 electric was added to the day rate, and the night reading hasn't moved on for the last 4 days. Given I have a good solar PV and the weather, day use is barely a few KWH, but overnight am using 8-12 KWH all 15p a unit dearer. Outfox 'pinged' the meter, which has made no difference. Given the owner's history, am concerned as to why the IHD displays everything correctly, yet the meter is amassing day units that should be night, and 15p cheaper.
It goes to show you need to check readings regularly, and just wondered if anyone else has had problems with E7 tariff not being correctly applied, even though the IHD suggests it is all working as it should. I went with them because of the MSE and despite some poor reviews, thought I would be able to 'keep an eye on things', which have shown, frankly, they can't be trusted to manage the smart meter. Also annoyed the cooling off period starts when you sign up, not when the supply starts. They've already told me if I leave, it will be £75 exit fee.

I guess the meter isn't switching the ALCS either?Ask Outfox to re-provision the meter with your E7 tariff details and timings. If they can't or won't, raise a complaint. If that still doesn't resolve it, you can take it to the Ombudsman after eight weeks. That'll be late October so you might still get it fixed before the weather gets properly cold.N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile.
