Econ 7 washing machine and noise
This might be one for another thread but I am looking to replace the washing machine, mainly as it is very noisy and the floor shakes when it's on. Being on the top floor, and only using the machine overnight on Econ 7 times, this is a big deal. At the same time, I don't want one that will calculate the load as I need to…

British Gas Freecharge for EV tariff
This was not offered to me as both a British Gas and Hive customer. Their terms and conditions state To qualify for FreeCharge you must "install a Hive-enabled Alfen Eve Single S-Line or EO Mini Pro 3 that has been ordered from the Hive website or one of Hive’s retail partners, and activate the FreeCharge mode within the…

Elnur Ecohhr20 balancing element
Hi Just fitted this ecombi hhr to replace 40+ year old dimplex. They are running on a single power 24hr/restricted power supply. I have been experimenting with the settings and set the "max working hours of balancing elements" to 0 but the balancing elements are still coming on during peak times. Looking at the current…

Can Smart Meters cause reduction in Gas pressure?
I had a smart meter installed in November by E-ON, all working
OK, no issues. Shortly after I had my annual Boiler service via Baxi and
was given a notice that the Gas pressure had reduced to 16mb, below the boilers
normal working pressure of 17mb. The pressure coming into the meter from the mains
is 19mb. Previous boiler…

Octopus Energy have made my day!
I have a minor issue with my heat pump and in my discussions with them they found out I have been unwell for the last week or so. I got home from work today to find this waiting for me. I am lost for words, an unbelievably kind and thoughtful thing to do.

Scottish Power
I complained to Scottish Power, but they just refuse to deal with my complaint, or even acknowledge it. Because they won't deal with it, they keep phoning me up to nag me, which is starting to get annoying. Is there any way I can force them to deal with it, or do I just have to wait until 8 weeks have elapsed and take it…

Should we buy a 2nd solar battery
I know solar batteries can be a contentious issue on MSE forums - however OH & I invested in solar panels 5.5 kWh + battery 6.5 kWh approx 20 months ago and we are wondering if adding a 2nd battery to our existing system would be beneficial. am sure that most with solar panels on these forums will have had a similarly…

Powerline Advisory Group - Compensation
Has anyone had any experience or knowledge of the above mentioned company? We recently had a letter from them about potentially claiming compensation for powerlines on our property. I'm very sceptical for a number of reasons; *The number of scams recently *The fact that we don't have any powerlines on our property, but…

New Build Heat Loss
Hi all, Recently moved in to a 4-bed detached new build (completed in June this year) and was curious if this level of heating fluctuation on the ground floor is normal or showing signs of a problem to anyone. Admittedly I had been away for a few days before this so the house had been cold with no heating on, but it seems…

Moving gas meter - but does supplier have to do it?
My gas meter is outside next to my neighbours' (we live on different floors of the same property). They want to move both our meters 1m or so across for aesthetic reasons (the meters are on his front wall). In principle I don't have an issue except it is a bit of a faff re discussions/admin. The neighbour was saying they…

Octopus Outgoing and FIT.
Is it possible to be paid the 15p Octopus Outgoing rate for export and keep the FIT generation payment? I realise of course that the FIT export payments would stop. At present my FIT generation and export are with Octopus since Green Energy went bust. I have a non smart import/export meter so am paid actual not deemed…

Help needed after smart meter installation - boiler not working and energy company not helping
I'm at my wits end here. Hope some of you might be able to help me know what to do next. My gas and electricity company Bulb installed a smart meter at my house at the beginning of August, after they asked me to have it done. After the installation my boiler didn't work - the pilot light wouldn't turn on. The engineer…

Change from "traditional" SH to Dimplex Quantums...noticed any reduction in energy costs?
We have just aquired a couple of Dimplex Quantums to replace 30 year old units. Just wondering if those people who have upgraded to newer SH have noticed any significant reductions in their energy usage?

Octopus 'smart' electric meter with two kWh readings
Octopus recently had smart meters fitted, then partly commissioned. The gas meter works, they get readings from it, but the electric meter wouldn't commission, so we were told by the person who came to do it. However, Octopus are now saying that they are getting readings from the smart electric meter, but they are not what…

Change of Meters
Ok, so a few weeks ago I put a post on here regarding my electricity meter and an email I had received from EON saying that the certification date on the meter had expired and it now needed to be changed (for a smart meter). I really really didn't want one as I hear more bad things about them than good, and I prefer to do…

Cheap Energy Club disappointing
Today's MSE email said that the E.on Next 18 month fix would be 8% cheaper than the cap. Cheap Energy Club said "No saving, £5 per year extra" ! I know there's a rider that the result depends on location and usage, but that's a heck of a difference. I'd love to know where the 8% saving is correct.

Warm Home Discount 2024
Does anyone know if there will still be a Warm Home Discount this coming Winter? I previously was entitled to it due to being on PIP and ESA, and then two years ago they changed the criteria as automatically for pensioners and the other categories had to have a certain EPC on their homes and I missed out. I finally turned…

EDF Energy Hub not showing correct use of energy
Hi All, Just wondering if others are currently having (or had) similar issue as this; The online EDF energy hub is not recording the correct usage of energy, see photo below; Ok, I know the time scales are slightly differing sizes, but the peaks on our actual energy monitor are exactly right, whereas the one on the online…
