Pause/fast forward programmes
I recently cancelled my Sky subscription due to cost, and now have the standard TV channels on my smart tv. However, my wife is fed up of having to sit through adverts whilst watching shows. She prefers to record them and be able to skip through them. Is there any way of doing this? I don't have an aerial by the way.

BT signal issues at new home
Hi All We moved house in March, we moved 2.5 miles up the road so not far and we took our BT TV subscription with us but moving in we had really bad signal issues, a lot of channels were barely watchable with the pixelating and breaking up completely. We were getting signal strengths of about 4 to 6% a lot of the time. We…

Why I ( and others ? ) don’t switch.
I pay BT 65
a month for broadband and landline phone. Martin urges me to switch or haggle. Here’s why I don’t. A reliable,
continuous service is these days as important as power and water. I don’t want to risk it – “if it ain’t broke
don’t fix it”. The sheer
confusion of deals. The hassle
of remembering everybody who has…

Sky TV subscription costs
My elderly father has had Sky broadband and TV box (no cinema/sports etc - just the basics) for donkeys years and has just kept the payments going. It's an old Sky+ box. I found out he's paying £108 a month for it which is crazy. He isn't keen on switching because he's used to the box but I'm guessing they'll become…

Alternative to Sky
Its that time of the year (well 18 months) when I have to negotiate with sky for a new better deal. Thing is, after today I'm really losing the will to live and haven't got the energy to play the game to get the better deal. note I'm autistic so phone calls aren't my comfort zone and they're even harder as we transfer to…

O2 have totally confused me with this SIM only deal.
So through sheer inertia I have been paying O2 more than £75 a month for a SIM only deal for 3 phones - myself and 2 teenagers. Embarassingly, I've been out of contract for almost a year. Finally, since this is really expensive, I check out what's around with a view to change and find Vodafone with a £8 deal for 20GB.…

Pop Telecom Internet Contract do I have a case ?
I started a new contract with Pop telecom 4 months ago. The first invoice they sent me had about £12 of extras included which I did not ask for, which they took off once I rang them. They sent me an invoice the other day, asking to increase their bill by 15.5% in April this year (Today). I assumed I would be paying the…

Data sim recommendations
I've a friend using a 4g router, who doesn't want / need a broadband connection as future accommodation plans are uncertain. They are using more data than I expected however. Any recommendations for a data sim? I'd prefer open-ended usage rather than a 30 day limit. Argos do an EE one with 120Gb valid for 12 months for…

BT made a sensible change to logins but did it badly
BT, quite rightly, have separated the logins for your account or your email, which makes things more secure ( it is now bt.com/login or bt.com/email ). However, both invoke sign-in screens which look identical. Not only that, they have removed the ability to click to view the password and check you have entered it…

Sky+ stopping support of BBC 1 issue & will lose all BBC channels
Hi I am having an issue with my Sky+ box no longer recording BBC1 ( can't live pause or rewind either). Having spoken to Sky technical support a couple of times I have been told that no additional support will be provided and only option is to upgrade to Sky Q. Was also told that all BBC channels at some point in future…

New Virgin Customer - wish to cancel - impossible to do on the phone!
Hello, we have had Virgin TV and broadband installed in the last few days. For many reasons, we have come to the conclusion that it’s not for us and we want to cancel as soon as possible! I am in my 14 day cooling off period (day 2 actually!). However, after speaking to them on the phone for nearly an hour - they simply…
