I believe he is paying around 150 quid for SS and broadband 🧐. What’s the most cost effective way to keep him sport happy?? We won’t need sky cinema etc. thanks

Sky apparently no longer selling Sky Q to new customers!
If you go to https://www.sky.com/tv/sky-q you used to be able sign up as a new customer to get satellite TV from Sky with a Sky Q box. Now on that web page it says:We've unplugged Sky Q. Plug in Sky Stream for less. Sky Q is no longer available to buy online. But you can take your viewing to the next level with Sky Stream…

Backdated TV licence refunds for over 75's
I was unaware of the free TV linces for over 75's and am now 78. They are refusing to backdate 3 years worth of overpayment. Only the few months worth of this year when I applied.. When I suggested going to small claims, the answer was we will fully defend it and you will be liable for full costs. I was also informed that…

My mum is 88 and lives 85 miles away She has WiFi but can't navigate TV outside typing in channel numbers. I'm wondering whether there is any facility yet so you can operate a TV remotely over the internet to operate things like Netflix, Amazon video, etc. Obviously you would need video feedback so you can see what's…

Changing broadband/TV supplier
My broadband / TV contract is coming to its end. I've been with Virgin Media since before it was Virgin (that is, Redeffusion, CableTel, NTL and now Virgin), but as usual I'm looking to see if a better deal is available. Sky looks interesting for £48/m; as a new Virgin customer I can beat that slightly, but getting that…

UHD - lots of hype but missing some truths?
I have just purchased a new LG OLED 4k TV to add to my BOSE sound system and my EE TV package. Being keen to see some programmes in UHD, I checked out the listings on iPlayer and Amazon Prime and expected to find ‘UHD’ in the corner of the programme information. Much to my surprise, I couldn’t see either ‘UHD’ or ‘4k’ - so…

Monthly TV licence
I’d like to flag what looks like a regressive and misleading structure in the TV Licence payment options, especially for people who pay monthly because they can’t afford the upfront cost. Key points: The annual licence is £174.50 if paid in full. The monthly direct debit plan is heavily front-loaded. In the first 12…
