Ending Sky (Solved)
Asking for someone else.
Sky has just been cancelled. Next payment due end of Oct £39.50, then final one a credit of £12. Don't want to having to chase them up for refund rather just pay £27.50 at end of Oct, would there be any issues with that?

Probably.
The billing systems of Sky and most utilities are big and stupid, start doing anything that requires 'exception processing' and it will almost certainly extend the billing further, since everything works on the billing cycle.
Want to action a debit or a credit or a cancellation? Create an instruction that goes into the next monthly billing cycle for this account.
Let it run its course (and don't cancel any direct debit instructions).

As above, final sentence.

I agree with @flaneurs_lobster
Unless you time cancellation exactly in line with billing date then you need to pay the usual payment and then be refunded once you have left.
If you do not do so Sky will block access to the account until full payment is made and that then causes no end of issues, all contact will result in being directed to a payment portal before they will speak to you.1 -
Thanks all, always happy to accept advice so will let it run.
