Switching from Virgin Media, Sky delays installation of FTTP
I am leaving Virgin Media cable internet to get Sky FTTP using the broadband switching service. Sky originally gave a date of 7th May and Virgin Media calculated the last bill including cancellation fee to that date. Now Sky has informed me that it will now be 10th June for installation. Will Virgin just keep the internet…

18185 services
Haven't used the service for a long time so decided to cancel subscription. Expected to receive a final invoice (last time I looked I think I'd used ~ £2 of calls) but the account reads zero! Anyone else still using it noticed a zero balance ? Last invoice I paid was nearly 2 years ago.

Oldies who don't want broadband?
My 88-year-old Mum's Virgin Media contract is about to expire. For ages now she's just had a very basic TV package (essentially just Freeview as far as I can tell), her old Tivo box, and her landline. VM put a router in for the latter some time ago, and that's all it's for. She doesn't understand nor want broadband and I…

Cheap calls to USA
I have been using Doubledial to make free calls to the USA (I actually call from my mobile, but am posting on this forum as it isn't a mobile issue). This has worked fine until today. But when I tried today I got told to use a different number to start the call. And that's an 0843 number so has a large charge. So are there…

Sky stream and U.
There is a good offer for sky stream (I’m currently with virgin). I’m a little confused with a particular thing… I know that they don’t actually record as such, my virgin box records and then I watch it from my list and I can fast forward through the adverts. I have added the advert skipping to the package with sky. I…

Calling toll-free numbers in US
A search found that Viber does not charge to call 1-800 numbers in the States, but that call quality is usually poor if it is not a Viber to Viber call. Would whatsApp have a similar facility, or if not, are there any other apps to do this?

How do I know the caller from Sky is genuine?
I just had a call from 08007613372 claiming to be from Sky wanting to discuss my current 18 month contract which is ending. He knew my first name and that my 18 month contract was coming to an end and wanted to confirm my surname and postcode. I asked him what I had recently changed on my plan( I have added broadband) and…

BT renewing contracts for Broadband and TV Package when reporting a fault with BT TV Pro Box
On 13th March 2025 I contacted BT using their online chat to report a fault with my BT TV Pro box. The box has been giving issues for a couple of months where it was freezing (requiring the box to be powered down to restart) or rebooting of its own accord. So following BT forums suggestion as a last resort to reset of the…

Trapped by BT
My elderly mother has BT home phone (with unlimited minutes) and broadband (her TV is connected by WiFi). The home phone is her only means of communication and she has been forced on to digital voice, which she never wanted and doesn't understand. Her TV has to be connected to the router by WiFi and BT assured us that the…

How to disable SMS text delivery to my landline 'phone
Appreciate guidance on this issue... I wish to completely disable SMS text delivery to my landline 'phone. These texts are usually presented as a garbled voice message. I rarely answer calls from unknown numbers these days so these garbled voice messages end up on my answerphone. I added curfew times using the BT facility…

Hi There, I've had an open complaint with talktalk now for a little while and wanted to know where you think I stand with this: When I moved into my flat, we ordered a fibre package through talktalk to be installed at our flat. Just before installation day, they apologised and said there will be a delay in getting the wifi…

Sky tv, let me cancel after 15 yrs
OK, so if you're going to haggle, be prepared! Sat 7th, I rang sky, as I was out of contract on all services. TV and broadband. I compared deals and saw BT offering pretty much the same deal for £13p/m for 6 months, then £64 thereafter. (24 month contract) I told the agent I wanted to cancel, she was pleasant but sarcastic…

Will Virgin 360 TV box be cancelled as well?
I am moving to Sky broadband and they will be dealing with the switch from Virgin Media. Since the 360 box requires Virgin internet will that also be cancelled at the same time or will I have to contact Virgin about it?
