Do any UK landlines charge to RECEIVE mobile calls?
Hi all. Was talking to my dad yesterday and got onto the subject of phones and broadband and he said that on his current deal (BT) and his old one (sky) he gets charged to receive calls from UK mobiles. Can this be right? I've never heard of it before. He said he'd find a bill to show me but thought I'd ask here too.…

Sky Essentials
Hello, I received in the post a flyer from Sky stating for £25 a month you got unlimited broadband, free uk calls anytime day/night, sky box for freeview channels with NO Set up cost. However upon phoning them you have to pay the set-up cost as the flyer had no offer reference -surely this falls under misrepresentation?.

Install phone line to new build
We are in the final stages of rebuilding our house, which involved removing the old overhead phone line to the property. The builder has asked me to contact BT, if we want to get a new underground phone and internet connection. Our builder will dig the channel for the cables How do I do this? Is it cheaper / easier to go…

Currys return policy ?
My wife has just incurred a £33 phone bill for a 4 hour call to Currys ! Anyone else had a similar problem ? We could not email or message in any other way ? We could not believe this. The faulty 'Fitbit ' which were trying to send back was only worth a bit more than the actual phone call ? Crazy ? A huge con ? Please help…

Is it worth asking talktalk for help?
I manage my grandparents in-laws' talktalk account (they are both in their 90s and have broadband and land-line). Last summer we cancelled their unlimited calls add on as they rarely used the phone (they Skype a lot) and had a mobile (giffgaff) that was cheaper to buy unlimited minutes that they used instead. On 21st July…

Parents Have Old Sky + HD box for free view. Will a Viewing Card Increase Number of channels?

John Lewis smart tv return policy
I am wondering if anyone else has had this or different experience or can offer any help. I bought a smart tv online from John Lewis which I want to return under the 14 day provision in the distant selling regs (I know they are called something different now). John Lewis say they can’t take it back because it has been…

Would like to block calls with a button on new set of Landline phones.
I would like to replace our landline phones which are a THREE pack, ie lounge, kitchen, bedroom. Another 3 would be ok, but 2 will do. Ideally it would be great if there was a button which would allow us/me to press when cold callers ring that would instantly block them. We're with EE. If anyone can recommend such a set of…

Sky Talk - receiving calls intermittently
My parents told me that they can't ring me on my landline and took them four times to get through. One time, it cut off and the other times there was an American voice saying that the call cannot continue. I can ring out and broadband - no issues there. When I ring Sky, they keep saying to go online to rectify the problem…

NOWtv and LG's
Had a warning on both our LG TVs that the NOWtv app will no longer be available from August 24th 2020. Looking into this it appears this is because of the Netcast OS platform no longer being supported. This is what I hate about SmartTVs. Once the other 3rd party streaming services decide they no longer want to support the…

BBC licence fee
My mom is 87 and has just been informed that she will have to prove that she is in receipt of pension credit, that's not an issue as she has my sister and myself to administer her affairs, however I'm concerned about people who don't have someone to sort things out such as this, I don't feel it's right that older people…

Virgin media and house move
Hi Just moving into a new property and looking to get virgin as I saw their wall box on the viewing. I’ve seen deals for 12 and 18 months. It’s a rented property so I know I’m only guaranteed to have it for 12 months. Given virgin isn’t available everywhere, what would happen if we had to move to a new property and virgin…
