ITV football fake crowd noise = turn off

I thought I'd check out the England game this evening.

1. Switched on.
2. How do I turn off the fake crowd noise?
3. Can't find a way.
4. Google search on my iPad - nope nothing.
5. A link to Twitter. Hmm, what's my passwd? Go to my computer and find my passwd. Nothing found to turn it off.
6. Turn off the telly and stay on my computer.

I'm not watching matches with that stupid ersatz crowd noise.

Turn sound off.

Put radio on.  Matches are almost always covered somewhere (usually Radio 5 for national football, or the local BBC station for other matches).  If access to Sky+/pause/whatever, pause, rewind, forward as appropriate to sync audio up with pictures.

Its mainly there to cover the sound of the players swearing at each other.

Luckily for the OP, I think thats the last footbal ITV are showing live until at least March now, if not longer. BBC and Sky have "natural" noise options.

Great - does that mean we'll have to suffer Glen Hoddle's monotones then, or have they pensioned him off?
