EE Broadband contract
Hi, I am 11 months into a 24 month contract for EE Broadband with basic Apple TV. I am astounded to be paying £49/month when similar deals seem to be around £25/month. Any tips on how to terminate on the basis that I am being overcharged (without paying the £350 early termination fee)? Are there any rules around what EE…

Discount available after request for installation
A couple of weeks ago, I put in an order to Virgin for M100 broadband. Installation is due August 5th. It costs £24.99. I’ve just seen the MSE notification of the same service for £17.40 per month! is there any way I can get my current order converted please? Or would I have to cancel this installation and then put in a…

Vodafone Deal - Not available
Hi I can see a deal on the comparison tool with Vodafone I want to take up (24 month contract, £30pm, 900Mb) but when I click through to the Vodafone site it's not there. I've tried contacting Vodafone but they're not aware of the deal and even said MSE is a 3rd Party so they would end up just cancelling the order anyway.…

WARNING re switching to current Shell top deal.
I did this on the 26th of June, from Plusnet. I was given a 13th July switch date. 13th arrives, no switch. However it appeared on the 14th. Excellent. Lots of faffing to change Alexa over but I got it done. On the 15th I receive two emails from Plusnet welcoming me back since I'd cancelled the switch. I did no such thing…

Switching BB Provider (just before End of Contract)
Quick question. MIL/FIL (in their 80's) are coming to the end of their current contract with TalkTalk (on 10th August). As they receive Pension Credit I know that they are able to receive BT's Home Essentials package ranging from £10-£20 (for fibre FTTC + unlimited/700min pcm phone calls for the £15 package). Presently…

Does anyone know if the old post office router will work on shell energy with a new contract with them. Shell have sent me a new router for the new contract, but Royal Mail have delivered it to the wrong address, no idea where it is but the person has accepted it going by the photo the tracking shows. Does anyone know what…

Shell broadband speeds plummeted after “upgrade”
I was previously with Shell broadband on their “Superfast fibre” package, getting reliable download speeds of 36-38mbps with upload speeds of around 10Mbps. When my contract ended they offered me an upgrade to “Superfast fibre +” for a lower price, so naturally I switched. For the first 3 weeks I was getting perfectly…

Virgin Media Broadband - Price Changes
Hello, I received this email from Virgin Media about my broadband, the contract finishes next month and the price change is just yikes! It seems like there are many that have got this email and the price change varies. So make sure you check when your contract runs out and either haggle for a better price or shop around…

Shell energy broadband - any feedback from recent joiners ?
Do any recent joiners to Shell energy broadband have any feedback to share about it ? I am referring to their standard ADSL 'fast broadband' 'up to 11Mbps' service, not their fibre offerings. I am always suspicious of very cheap providers as they probably over-commit their available bandwidth more than most. But as we are…

Plusnet service should have gone live June 7th. Still no service today almost 50 days later
Basically I joined plusnet in the middle of May after having a horrendous experience trying to leave Virgin Media. Plusnet told me BT Openreach would be coming on 5th June to activate my line then my service would go live 48 hours later on June7th. BT Openreach arrived as promised 5th June but told me they couldn't go up…

SCAM/SPAM dangerous email pretending to be from Plusnet.
If this is not the correct Forum to post on please let me know and redirect this post, thank you. I received a convincing email allegedly from Plusnet this afternoon. In reality it is from (I have put the XXX in the middle of the email address in case anyone clicks on it by mistake.) Plusnet [Update-97F]…

TalkTalk not honoring contract?
Hallo, on 13 February I signed up to a TT contract through a MSE link which consisted in £20 a month for "Fiber 65" and £60 Amazon voucher after service activates: "you'll be sent instructions by email on how to select your £60 voucher". I called to inquire about the voucher and was told there was no such deal available,…

Asking for a bill reduction before swapping supplier
Success!! I've been very happily allied to EE for donkey's years. So when they put my broadband charge up to £28 I thought to swap. I consulted MSE and read about the value of haggling. And that's just what I did this morning - and got my bill down to its last year's rate of £19! No fuss. No argument. Sorted! Thank you…

Plusnet to Shell and now no phone line
Hi, I switched from Plusnet to Shell at the end of my contract, and boy do I regret it. I was due to go live on the 13th of July but my internet didn't appear till the 14th and worse, I didn't discover until the 15th that I now had no phone line. I found out through receiving two emails from Plusnet telling me I'd…

TalkTalk Business - Not receiveing bill and direct debit increase notifications
For several years now, I've not been receiving email notifications of bills being ready to download or of increases in direct debits. This puts TalkTalk Business in breach of the Direct Debit Guarantee so they should be refunding the increased amounts. To cut a long story short, I've spent the last year trying to get them…
