Shell broadband account credit
Used an MSE link a couple of months ago to get fibre. I knew I should have taken a screen shot and I have written the info down somewhere but like it says on the current deals there was an account credit due (I think £80) with a certain time frame. This hasn’t materialised and there’s no info about it on any…

Virgin broadband help
i am looking at an offer for broadband from Virgin. The MS page shows an offer that includes a 02 sim but I cannot discover the plan that this refers too . In speaking to Virgin they will only talk about their plan which is considerably more than quoted on the MS page. Any body know how to get the info required?

Long-standing intermittent poor line now with Sky
So, as the title , I've been paying for a landline for years that everyone tells me they can't hear me. So, I really need to have decent phones due to my health. But over the years, all that's has happened , is that the company sends an engineer, the last time they did a test inside and said it's fine. I've told them it's…

Vodafone Fibre to the property + CityFibre and my experience
This is my experience with it and I am posting it so that if someone is considering it in the future and they Google Vodafone fibre broadband they may see this and it could help inform them on their choices. TL;DR - Vodafone/CityFibre customer service is pretty bad and their internet is incredibly patchy and unreliable. I…

Plus Nett Pulling my Leg?
Anyone noticed that broadband companies are extending their contract length to 2 yrs now that inflation is running out of control? My contract was up for renewal and I scanned the market and found a deal with Shell Energy for £27.19 for 12 months this was for 38, fully inclusive calls and landline which is my current deal…

Problem with cabling of landline phone sockets with modern broadband router technology
In my home I have a landline phone system installed by BT many years ago. The main phone cable enters into the house and my home is wired to provide extension landline phone sockets on the wall of pretty much every room. So for many years I've been able to plug in landline phones everywhere. A few years ago I signed up to…

Any supplier not adding CPI + 3.5% to contracts?
It looks like this is the latest attempt to squeeze more out of us. So far I have tried BT, Plusnet, TalkTalk, Shell Energy. They all add this huge increase to your “fixed price 😄” contract every March. The % added to CPI varies. TalkTalk add 3.7%. That’s currently an extra 13.6%. Is anyone still offering a genuine fixed…

TalkTalk Fibre update _ my experience
They wrote to me offering Fibre upgrade, "no change to cost, contract or add ons." I know they have to do this at some point, so why not. We agreed a date, Openreach used rods to thread the cable a very long distace (50m) whilst the copper was still in place, which was just as well because there were problems at their end…

TaikTalk Fibre 35 contract ending 13th October, planning on changing provider

Changing BT contract timeline / Keep email
Hi, I want to move from BT to Plusnet - I have 31 days left on my BT contract. I am just wondering when I should start the transfer/cancellation process, so I don't get charges for leaving early or paying more for the price rises to current BT contract. I am also using BT (old yahoo email address) and don't want to lose…

Can I still change contract 11 days before the old contract runs out?
Hi, I've totally forgot about that one: We are currently with Sky (Superfast, not Fibre/FTTH), contract is renewed 01 October. Renewal via Sky would result in another 18 month contract if I see this correctly. We would like to change to Vodafone Superfast 2, which is ~£10 less per month than Sky (but faster), plus a £120…

Virgin new customer deal
Hi, my Virgin broadband deal is about to expire and they have quoted me £47pm to continue (I'm sure I can bring this down by ringing them). They are offering a deal where is effectively £18pm for double the speed I'm getting, but it's for new customers that haven't been with Virgin in the last 12 months only. Would anyone…

Good Offer from BT.
My contract was due for renewal. About three weeks before contract end, I received an unsolicited offer for Fibre2 for £29.99 (£19.99 Line rental £10 BB). This was the price I signed up for over four years ago, so I renewed. I have since renewed my Line saver for £219.89. This effectively cancels any price increases that I…

EE - Landline and Broadband problem
Not sure what else to do if anything. My Broadband has started cutting out when the phone rings. I know this as my Alexa Dot, that I listen to the radio with stops working during calls and then reconnects a few minutes later. This has only been happening for just over a week. The old phone had the message “check line”,…

3 lines via pole to house - 2 'disconnected' - impact on broadband speed?
So at some stage 3 separate telephone lines have been connected to my house. This was in 90's. This is from a telegraph pole - poles are at frequent intervals along our road in a city area. Cabinet is fibre to cabinet. I am 3 houses down from cabinet. The advertised download rate is up to 100mgb. Doing a speedtest (not…
