Back in Feb, I got the contract renewal offer from VM. £168 up from £118 previously (it's a hi speed package with a lot of add ons!), So, I went through the usual telephone "negotiation" and got it down to £69 for the same package. On my first bill. a credit of £505 appeared for "QuickStart Pack Credit". Since then, every…

Virgin Media - New Contract
Hi All, After negotiating with Virgin Media in response to their price increase letter, I received a new contract. However, the contract now states that Virgin Media reserves the right to increase prices at any point during the contract term without providing any further details. Unlike Vodafone, which states that there…

Broadband options for a home with no physical above ground phone line.
Hi, we have no above ground phone line entering the house. Virgin have been our provider for broadband for a number of years but would like to review what options we have from other suppliers. Are we stuck with Virgin or are there other suppliers who will/can provide broadband only with no phone line? I don't know the type…

Broadband without big supplier
Hello all. We recently moved house and wanted to take our landline number with us for our business. We were put in touch with a company locally that does this type of thing as I wouldn't have a clue how to do it. We were only moving round the corner but the dialling code changed, hence wanting to keep our old number. We…

BT vs plusnet Full Firbe 500 Broadband
So the plot thickens. I looked into this a while ago but Plusnet were a lot more expensive if you wanted fast upload, but they have now aligned themselves. They both offer the same upload/download speed and Plusnet is initially $1 more expensive. But there in contract price rises are a lot better. They both have CPI but BT…

TalkTalk: Now £37.16 a month. Better options, or just threaten to leave?
I'm on a rolling contract with TalkTalk broadband. The renewal quote online is £29 - still a rip-off. Speed: 38 Mbps, which for what I do is fine. Has anybody been with TalkTalk and moved to a much better deal? Or if I say I want to leave, are they likely to offer me something nearer £20-25? Note: Virgin Media isn't…

Business has not implemented financial ombudsman decision
Hi, Long story short I made a complaint to the financial ombudsman regarding Virgin Media due to the continued delays with installation, most nonsensical customer service, and essentially completely ignoring the fact they owed me money despite having 15+ conversations on the matter with different customer service…

I've been trying to access one of the Vodafone offers, but every time I get to the point where it checks your residence time at your address, it falls over with: "Please try again... Hi, Does anyone know any comparisons that list only services actually available at the given location? I'm looking for options at home, where neither FTTC nor FTTP are available, yet any comparison site that I've tried lists page after page of fibre services.

Virgin Media - instant discount!
Been with Virgin for years, couple of months ago my Broadband/basic TV/landline (which I don't need!) package shot up. Just got round to giving them a call to see if they could find another package I could subscribe to but the automated voice told me I could get £4.50 off straight away just by pressing a hashtag. Monthly deals for broadband?
Hi. I'm grateful for advice. I am temporarily moving to a new property (probably only for a few months), but I don't know the exact number of months. It would be for less than a year for sure. What providers/deals are available for my circumstances? I can only really find 12 month/18 month etc deals on the website. Thanks!

Issues with shell broadband & credit score
I was a customer of Shell Energy for 18 months, during which I used their router. After I ended my contract with them, I returned the router using their prepaid label. However, I recently noticed that they tried to charge me £35, claiming that I hadn't returned the router. This is false, and fortunately, they weren't able…

Shell Broadband: £35 charge for non-return of returned router.
A bit over 18 months ago I moved my grandmother (87) to Shell broadband. Although the supplied router wasn't anywhere near as good and the line speeds significantly lower it was cheaper than who she was with (NowTV) and Alexia still worked despite added issue of markedly reduced WiFi coverage. So she was happy and…
