Hi
Moving into a new build soon, and a bit confused about the differences between the three broadband providers mentioned. I will have FTTP.

I’ve been told I’ll need to contact BT for broadband but when I search for deals most providers recognise my new address so I assume going with any of them is okay.
But I’m struggling to understand what the differences are between BT, EE and Plusnet.
I’ve compared their ~150mbps and ~500mpbs packages and apart from the speed guarantees and price differences I’m not sure what is actually difference. I’m planning on using my own wifi mesh system so the ISP router differences don’t bother me.
Is it worth paying more for BT (£8.50 pm) or EE (£3.50 pm) vs Plusnet on their ~500 Mbps plans?
(There is only £1.50 pm a difference between Plusnet and BT & EE for ~150 Mbps)

They are all part of BT. Eventually all BT broadband customers will become EE customers. I currently have FTC service from BT but the mobile back-up bit al all badged as EE. I am not sure if the same will happen to Plusnet but their mobile services has already been shifted to EE.2

If moving into a new build that has Openreach , you don’t have to use a BT Group company unless you want to , and as stated , the 3 you mention are all fundamentally part of the same organisation, but Plusnet don’t offer a phone service , although that may be of no consequence to you …
Plusnet is the ‘no frills’ brand hence the lower price , the ONT to OLT part of the connection is identical regardless of the provider, the OLT backhaul may differ , but between those 3 , probably not by much , so the PN deal probably is the one to go for on the 500Mb service2
