Help!
Sorry, completely new to this, so not sure I'm even doing it right! I've got a brain like a sieve, but can remember I've had 2 mortgages and a credit card years ago. Can't find any paperwork, can't remember who with. How could I find out, or can you just send a letter to every bank and hope one of them comes back with some…

Can I cancel ppi check before it starts?
This may be a stupid question, but apparently I am stupid, so nothing to lose. Offered to fill in an online ppi checker for my mum. Was my intention to use resolver but i ended up on the wrong one - likely due to chatting and being distracted. All filled in, signed and submitted. Sod's law that it was only then that I…

Capital Home Loans PPI?
I had a mortgage starting in 1994/5 on a part ownership. The lender was arranged for me. I believe they were Capital Home Loans. I have a memory of being encouraged to take out insurance, as we were asking for quite a big multiple. I sold that house in 2000 and have lost the paperwork somewhere along the way. Capital Home…

Fast Track asking for money - please advise
Hello, Months ago I went through to Fast Track from this site to see if I had PPI. They've sent lots of forms and emails. I never responded and now they are demanding £1000 plus. I have not asked them to act on my behalf and I have no PPI repayments. This is very worrying and stressful. Has anybody had a similar experience…

Plevin Offered at same time PPI rejected
Hi, I'm sorry if this question has already been posted in another thread. I've recently submitted a PPI claim to Capital One who has rejected it outright but, at the same time, sent through a Plevin 'win' finding. I've seen the comment on one of the blog sites apparently edited by Martin that this could be a tactic by Cap1…

PPI claim again?
My late husband applied for PPI about 6 years ago and I think we received £500. Would that search have included everything that we were owed? Or should I try to claim again and see if I am owed any more money? He dealt with all our finances when he was alive so I would have no idea where to start. Please advise. Thanks in…

PPI for School Fees
I am just wondering whether I can make a PPI claim for the compulsory insurance we were required to take out when paying my son's school fees. I've contacted the FCA and they didn't know! The insurance was to cover the school fees in the event that we could not pay them.

PPI claim rejected, Plevin offered
I have had a response from Lloyds Bank saying in their view my PPI was not mis-sold - however they have admitted they did not tell me about the commission they would earn and have offered compensation for that (PLEVIN). The % commission ranged from 69 - 100%. Now I believe had I known that I would not have ever agreed…

PPI charges
I have been informed of a successful PPI compensation from The Claims Guys. However, they are asking for their commission to be paid up front without us having any proof. Is this normal practice. I feel somewhat uncomfortable !

Advice4Claims - real or scam?
Hi - I received a letter from a company called Advice4Claims about a month ago. They said I was owed £71.04 in PPI and requested I pay a 25% ‘service charge’ (£21.31 inc vat). Obviously, I just assumed this was a scam and disregarded the letter but upon finding it again today I thought I’d check them out. Can’t find…

Bankruptcy, ppi and reclaiming charges
Hi there Is it accurate that there is little point reclaiming all your ppi and charges, as it will all be kept as recompense? (I can see how, although it irks because the snowballing charges years ago caused the bankruptcy!)

Barclays unable to find account - can I still claim and how?
I made a claim in 2017 against PPI for an old loan account I had with Barclays, I was able to supply an address at the time and a reference number from an old letter for the loan but no account details. Barclays responded to say they 'were unable to find an account in my name' and were now closing the complaint. I now…

So daunted by this process...
Hi forumites! I've been putting this off for so long as I am just plain scared of opening this can of worms. I had about a dozen credit cards back in 2007, and although I usually am quite good at reading the small print, I can't be sure I ticked all the right boxes to reject PPI. Due to house moves, work moves and changes…

Reclaiming PPI as a deputy (POA) for a relative with dementia
My aunt is in a care home and my dad (her brother-in-law) is the legal deputy for all her affairs. My aunt was single and had no children. She owned her own house, which was paid off a while ago. My dad thinks it would be a lot of hassle to research PPI for her, so I'm trying to find out more information for him, because…

RCIB insurance charged me £200 for changes which online cost me £10
Absolutely inefficient and fraudulent. (Charged over £200 on phone for changes which online cost me £10..then they would not let me buy it online because they had already given me their quote!) They let you buy insurance telling you that it is not valid until they call you. Then they do not call you. I was trying to get…

Central Lending info needed
I posted a little while back as couldn't find out who ex-wife & I had had secured loans from due to no paperwork. Thanks to a suggestion I went back through old online bank statements and found payments to one of the loans in 2013. Problem now is all I have on the statements is "Central Lending" as a reference for each…

Reclaiming PPI for a deceased relative
Hi With the PPI deadline of the 29/08/19 fast approaching, I have been told that it is possible to reclaim PPI on a deceased relative’s estate? My mum died in 2007. Couple of questions: 1) Did PPI exist after 1995? 2) How do you start a claim if you don’t know what financial institutions they had business with? Is there a…
