PPI claim rejected, Plevin offered

I have had a response from Lloyds Bank saying in their view my PPI was not mis-sold - however they have admitted they did not tell me about the commission they would earn and have offered compensation for that (PLEVIN). The % commission ranged from 69 - 100%. Now I believe had I known that I would not have ever agreed (still not sure I did) to buy this. Should I escalate this claim now to the Ombudsman?

If you want, but the level of commision should not be your reason for doing so.

Bit of a silly admission as the regulator never, and still doesn't, have a requirement to disclose commission. It was a retrospective issue

Well that is one of the most BS complaint reasons I have heard and will not succeed on that point. The premium is what people pay. Whether the provider makes 10% or 80% it doesnt matter as its the premium that matters.

The bank has correctly responded in respect of a commission complaint and there is no reason to go to the FOS on that point.

Plevin applies to rejected complaints. So, if you believe you should have succeeded in your complaint, you take it ot the FOS. If you cash the Plevin cheque, then if your complaint at the FOS succeeds, the Plevin redress will be deducted from your upheld complaint redress.
We have no idea how you complained or what your reasons were, so can't tell you anything more.
