Fast Track asking for money - please advise

Hello,
Months ago I went through to Fast Track from this site to see if I had PPI.
They've sent lots of forms and emails. I never responded and now they are demanding £1000 plus.
I have not asked them to act on my behalf and I have no PPI repayments.
This is very worrying and stressful. Has anybody had a similar experience or does anyone have any advice?

I enquired through fast track myself however in the initial point of inquiring you will have given them your permission to act on your behalf by writing your name out on the form.... given the fact they are trying to bill you £1000’s according to you I’m assuming you’ve had successful PPI complaints paid to you?0

Hello Mrsn, I didn't ask them to act on my behalf. I didn't fill in any of the countless forms they sent or sign anything asking them to act on my behalf. Initially, I was just mildly interested in seeing if I had any PPI. After them telling me I could make a claim, I just ignored the forms, emails and phone calls. I was too busy. I have not had any repayments from anyone and I think it is a scam.
I'm going to contact Action Fraud tomorrow to find out what I can do and phone the bank they said had made an offer to see what they have to say.
I think it's a scam. I never entered into any contract with them.
Thank you for replying.0 -
It’s not whether you’ve signed any of the forms or not sent to you physically but when you made the “free PPI” checker service they offer it’s then that you have agreed to their services.
of course the bank they are claiming has sent you an offer denies any knowledge then it’s a different story. My hopes are that it all works out for you but claims companies are quiet ruthless when it comes to something they believe is theirs0 -
That's really dreadful. I wish I had known that before I clicked on the link. I shall see what the bank has to say tomorrow. Thank you for replying.0

So what happened in your case? Did you get a PPI repayment?0

"Fast Track" (nor any other Claims Management Firm) is NOT affiliated to this site (Money saving Expert).
Far from it, this site (and forum) does not recommend the use of any CMC.
I don't know how or why you chose this firm, but you really are barking up the wrong tree complaining about it here.
All CMCs are now regulated, so refer any complaint you may have to the Financial Ombudsman.0 -

The OP clearly clicked on a dodgy link, but it obviously won't have been on this site..0 -
I had emailed them not long after stating I wanted to cancel their free PPI enquiry. Luckily this was enough to put a stop on it going further and I made sure I got it in writing to say I wouldn’t be charged. I’m sorry that you seem to have misunderstood the way it was going to work for you0

The terms on their website say
By completing, signing and returning the Letter of Authority (LOA), You agree to be bound by these Terms of Engagement (“Agreement”).
IANAL but if you didn't do that I don't see how you have a contract with them
It also says
Once PPI is identified, the Free PPI Check Period ends and we will continue to work on preparing, submitting and negotiating your Claim(s). Our Fee of 24%, inclusive of VAT, will be payable on all successful Claim(s), as per the Terms of Engagement. Alternatively, you can complete the Claim(s) yourself.
Note the bit I've bolded bAgain that implies to me that if you completed the claims yourself or you did not sign a d return the forms they mention, you have no liability.
Good luck.0
