I didn't ask them to act on my behalf. I didn't fill in any of the countless forms they sent or sign anything asking them to act on my behalf. Initially, I was just mildly interested in seeing if I had any PPI. After them telling me I could make a claim, I just ignored the forms, emails and phone calls. I was too busy. I have not had any repayments from anyone and I think it is a scam.
It sounds to me like you have signed enough permission for this company to progress an actual complaint. The bank would certainly never accept a forwarded complaint from a Claim Company without a signed Letter Of Authority. If you have signed such a document (presumably without reading it first) and the Bank has upheld the "complaint" then I can't see you avoiding paying the Claim Company fee.

On the other hand, if no redress has been awarded, then it does not matter what you have signed, you owe this firm nothing.
On the 10th of this month you said you were going to the Bank to find out about the complaint. What did you discover?
  • As has been stated above, if you have not signed a letter of authority then they have no claim to make on any redress that you may receive. If you did sign, then obviously they would.

If it is clear that they may just be trying it on, then you can report them to the FCA as they are now regulated by them.

And remember, that you can always submit a subject access request free of charge and they will then have to provide you with any personal information that they hold on you and so would have to provide any claimed Letter of Authority

Just to clarify, you should first send this "fast track" company a written complaint, they then have 8 weeks in which to send you a final responce.
If you remain unhappy, you then have the option of escalating your complaint to the FOS.

The FOS are the complaints handler set up by government to deal with complaints about financial institutions.
The FCA are the regulator, and although you can write and complain to them about an issue you may have, they dont act on individual complaints, so would just refer you back to the FOS.

Its important you follow the correct procedure.

The process is explained here :

You can of course contact the FCA for their opinion, there contact details are here :

    How Much Are Your Fees?

Fast Track Reclaim work on a no win no fee basis, meaning that we only charge our fee if our client receives compensation from the lender. For successful claims we charge 20% plus VAT (totalling 24%). More information regarding our fees can be found in our Terms & Conditions which are available to read in full on this website. We pay all fees to pursue your claim, so there is nothing to pay upfront.

Did you have a successful claim ?

    OP never returned.

I think the Bank paid out and the OP now owes a fee to the Claim Company.

Why the OP thought he/she was directed to the Claim Firm by this site is the real mystery....

Can anyone please help please? I made a huge error in filling in a ppi checker with this company on behalf of my mum. I mistakenly clicked the wrong link. She had to sign the online form as proof of her signature.

I did this earlier today. I'm honestly having kittens now since realising my error and reading reviews. I don't know what to do. They have sent an activation email that said to compete the process there is one final step to complete. Obviously I haven't opened it so I don't know what it's asking for.

Initially I was worried she would start getting bombarded with calls but now I'm reading all kinds of horror stories about this company.

Honestly, I'm in a panic. If anyone can tell me anything I could do to attempt to nip anything untoward in the bud, or has any further advice, I would truly appreciate it. Thank you so much.

I've just gone back on the checker and it is a letter of authority that you sign at the end of the form for them to do the check. I don't know what this additional email is that has been sent, but it says...

"Your free ppi Check is almost ready. One final step to go. Click the button below and complete the form on the next page to receive your ppi check"

My rational brain wants to say if I don't complete it, then no worries. But it's almost 2am and I'm posting here when ordinarily I would be fast asleep. I'm worried that as my mum has signed it then this has bound her to something.

I've just sent an email to request cancellation of the free check and submitted a cancellation form on their site. Thus form is meant to be part of the fooling off period after a claim is made but I'm just trying to cover all bases.
  • If you have not completed the form AND you have sent the cancellation then you have nothing to worry about.

Thanks yeah, I suppose after reading all these horror reviews, if has got me worried. It's mainly because a signature was submitted and then I've read people have sent cancellations but never received responses and then were getting billed for services they were unaware they had signed up for.
