Reclaiming PPI as a deputy (POA) for a relative with dementia

My aunt is in a care home and my dad (her brother-in-law) is the legal deputy for all her affairs.
My aunt was single and had no children. She owned her own house, which was paid off a while ago.
My dad thinks it would be a lot of hassle to research PPI for her, so I'm trying to find out more information for him, because care home fees are so expensive and anything claimed back would be beneficial.
He has all the legal paperwork in place, so 1) can he claim for her and 2) how does he go about it?
Many thanks :-)

Do realise that, if you are hoping she had PPI on her mortgage, most such complaints are rejected. You'd also have to raise only very factual concerns and certainly could not make reference to sales conversations you were not privy to.
Make haste with your enquiries as the deadline is now only a month away..0
