Switch from pay monthly to sim only mobile
Hello! I’m thinking of switching to sim only having always previously been monthly contract. I’ve found a great deal through MSE but the provider (Lebara) use Vodafone for their network and that’s who I’m currently with. If I do a switch, is it likely to cause problems? Thanks!

EE 14.8% Increase on Whole Package Fee Including VAT
Hi, I have just had a conversation with an EE adviser regarding the latest price increase on 1st April, I would have thought that the only part of your package that can be affected is the total before VAT is added? Yet I have just been told that the 14.8% increase is on the full price I pay. Surely that can't be right?…

TV licence renewal date question
Hi forumites :) From the excellent "Do I need a TV licence" article, point 12 on licence duration/best renewal date, I know that it is best to renew at the beginning of the month or as close as possible. Yesterday (03-MAR-2023), I received the annual reminder to renew my licence; the letter states: "Licence renewal date 31…

Virgin media
I want to reduce my bill with virgin after the latest increase. I have been trying for days both on the phone and online chat, its impossible to talk to someone. Online chat as soon as you mention not wanting your TV package they do not respond again. Appalling customer service, just do not know what to do now, when I…

Tried Changing to New Broadband Provider - was told my old provider cancelled the order on my behalf
Has anyone experienced this? Does it make sense? Or is it as simple as the new provider doesn't want to honour the order? (which was placed during a special discount period & they've said a new order will need to be placed) Just read the MSE article about "New plans to broadband and landline switching easier" (article…

Can I leave Plusnet after completing minimum term contract
I have been with Plusnet for about 3-4 years. When they changed the rental saver back in January 2022, I spoke to them and they advised me of the new combined costs. What I wasn't aware of was that at the time they extended my contract for a further 18 months. I only realised this when I checked my contract terms last…

How to get through to a Virgin Media UK-based call centre
Dial their new customer helpline 0800 064 3836 and answer the prompts as if your a new customer and you'll be put through to a UK-based call centre in a jiffy. It may be cheating but you've got to fight fire with fire and once there you can ask them to sort out your problem or ask them to let you speak to someone who can.…

TV Licensing not sending any more paper documents
I pay the legalised theft by direct debit on an annual basis. I've just got my latest (paper) licence and it includes a note to say that they won't be sending any other documentation until such time as the licence fee changes. The printed licence expires in 12 months' time. If it was an open-ended licence, then no problem.…

New EE Phone contract is messed up!!! Totally screwing the customer how do I get out of it.HELP!!!!!
Hi all, I really need some help here. I just recently mid/late December (as far as I recall) took out a new 2yr phone contract as there were some attractive deals EE was offering. Landline - still worth it?
What is people's general feeling about landlines these days? We get pretty good mobile signal (Voda) and broadband (VM). I don't think we've used our landline for a year at least. I've also just noriced it's not actually working - no dial tone - so have taken that up with VM. We've probably been paying for a service that…

BT Increase March 2023
Just had notice through that prices going up by 10.9% ( CPI Increase ) and 3.9% - their margin. So even in these difficult times as well as covering their additional costs they are creaming off an extra (nearly) 4%. Can the regulator not do anything about this? Energy supply companies are stopped from making profits over…

Changing from Virgin Broadband
Hi I'm getting Virgin installed soon (hopefully after some delays!) This is the first time broadband will have been put in the house so the delays were caused by cabling work outside. I'm going on an 18 month deal for broadband and TV. My question is in 18 months if I decide to switch (Eg to BT broadband and Sky) am I…

O2 gauging ignores RPI
O2 price increase will be RPI plus 3.9% but they also say if RPI is negative 'we’ll only apply the 3.9%' like they're somehow doing us a favour. If RPI is negative, surely there's no need for a mid-contract inflation price hike. In fact, this policy is not only gauging and profiteering but also drives overall inflation…

Virginmedia landline - blocking nuisance / scam calls?
Grateful for any advice on blocking nuisance / scam calls from my dad's virginmedia landline. Despite being registered with the TPS, he's plagued with these calls. He's at a high risk of being scammed because he believes what callers tell him is true, despite all my efforts to convince him otherwise. If it's an obvious…

Sky
Tried to cancel my sky account but was told my contract ends 7 August. So I can't cancel. As I have already signed up with Virgin for start on 7 March it is very annoying. Sky doesn't have early exit at all.So left with no option but to have sky hike up my package and can't do nothing.
