CityFibre and Giganet - BEWARE!

October 2023 - We took the plunge to sign up with Giganet after receiving leaflets and digital prompts about the new super-fast service in our area of south Glasgow.
We gave our details, cancelled our service with Virgin and received numerous email and text reminders from CityFibre about saving the date the engineer would arrive.
After staying in for 5 hours no engineer appeared.
No phone call. No text or WhatsApp message. Nothing. Nobody.
We have now re-connected with a more expensive Virgin package and are out of pocket.
How can this happen? Beware prospective buyers!
What a shambles.
We gave our details, cancelled our service with Virgin and received numerous email and text reminders from CityFibre about saving the date the engineer would arrive.
After staying in for 5 hours no engineer appeared.
No phone call. No text or WhatsApp message. Nothing. Nobody.
We called customer service only to be told the Full Fibre service wasn't available in our area (!) for some unknown technical reason and that it would be 2 weeks before an engineer (might) visit us.
So they appear to be offering a service that they are unable to provide.
We have now re-connected with a more expensive Virgin package and are out of pocket.
How can this happen? Beware prospective buyers!
