I still have 1 year left on an 18 month contract with Sky but now I can,t really afford it.
Is there a way to cancel without any penalty?

Not unless you are moving to an area where you can't take the service with you.
Best option is to discuss with them and see if they will let you downgrade or similar0 -
No chance but ring them and see if you can downgrade to a cheaper packagemake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
