Leaving O2 moving to Lebara
Hi, please can anyone advise. My contract with O2 finishes on the 6th October, do I have to wait until the 7th October to request and apply my PAC code to leave or can I do this today? My monthly payment to O2 is £4.79 which goes out of my bank around the 21st of the month. I just sent a message to 85075 and O2 have said…

MSE ID Mobile Sim-only deal
I'm thinking of signing up for a SIM only pay-monthly deal through MSE for ID mobile. These have a data allowance included but nowhere on either website does it say that this is a data allowance per month. I have been told that it is by ID mobile but it seems strange to me that such a basic fact isn't made explicit…

I have a Samsung J5 2016 with a Tesco Mobile PAYG SIM.I use it for calls, texts and the occasional web browse via Wi-Fi.I really like the phone, it is indestructible, small and light. But I'm not sure it will support G4 -- I did not receive the Government warning message! My Settings say 2G/3G/LTE. No mention of…

TalkTalk ending International calls FROM UK in August '25

wifi switching on by itself
A number of times I have found that wifi has been turned on without my knowing. When I look at settings, it says:Wi-Fi doesn't turn back on automatically. Is it being turned on by Android, or the phone manufacturer (Motorola G24), to effect updates, and then not switching wifi off after doing the update?

Mis-selling phones on Amazon
So, following my bad experience buying a Samsung phone intended for the UAE from an Amazon listing specifying a UK spec model, I decided to ask a different seller about a different phone. As you can see from the conversation below, they were quite happy to admit they are mis-selling an "international model" as UK spec, but…

cancelling BT broadband by email is allowed in contract law
After last years ridiculous BT increases in march23 we realised how much more we were paying for BT broadband compared with its rivals . we asked to serve notice that in may 24 we wished to cancel as that was the end of our 24 month contract . we were told that we couldn't give that much notice and keep the service until…

Onecom Vodafone weirdness
Hi there, I can see lots of threads about onecome and Vodafone but so far nothing like my query. I have been a vodafone customer for about 23 years, originally PAYG and more recently on cheap and cheerful some only deals. I recently noticed no payment had been taken, checked my direct debit, still active but when logging…

VOXI - Buying a handset
VOXI seem to have a very good deal on the new Pixel 10 and I was considering it, but there isnt much info on the site, such as delivery times etc. Can anyone say they have bought a phone from there and it was all good? How long did delivery take?

SMARTY not so smart customer service
SMARTY offer a great value (hence your rating them in top PAYG). But perhaps their popularity has affected their ability to respond quickly to customer issues. Whilst COVID has affected response times everywhere, the limitations of only having an online customer service portal become obvious. You firstly have to tackle…

Cheapest way to keep a dormant UK phone number
Any recommendations on the best provider nowadays to keep a UK phone number that will not be used for some years, with no monthly contract? Idea would be to port the number to a PAYG provider and make a small top-up credit payment, and but with no monthly plan.I see discussions of this here ~10 years ago, but the provider…

Lebara MSE deal renewal after discount period
Hi, I'm 9 months in with a Lebara SIM on a MSE deal which was discounted for 7 months, and I have now paid 2 months at full rate (£9.90). I recently logged in to my Lebara account intending to cancel the contract and was surprised to see this on the dashboard: This tallies with the deal being offered by MSE at the same…

Classic Pay as you go
Does any company still offer the classic Pay as you go where you put credit on your phone and you can top up when the credit is low rather than paying a monthly subscription. This would be for an elderly person who will only use the phone occasionally or in an emergency whilst out

Plan.com - Adding on £30 caps without your approval + having caps but not following them.
Hello all, I've had issues with plan.com already (November 2024) where their data usage widget broke for 2 and 1/2 weeks and after having my phone cut from data usability on 22nd November 2024, I logged in and saw that I had only used 1.6gb of the 16gb limit. I rang them and after the young lady went to check she said…

Keeping UK mobile number active and roaming while living abroad for 1-2 years
Does anyone know which mobile providers currently allow long-term overseas roaming? It would be very minimal usage, I mainly just want to make sure I can stay roaming to receive SMS text messages (like the login verification codes banks send) while I'm living abroad. I'm currently with 3 and they told me roaming gets…

Sister visiting UK from Australia due to family health emergency. She needs a phone for calls and internet. I don't have an old phone she can use. I'm clueless as to where to go to get her a phone. Lebara “Free Roaming” Con
My husband and I have recently signed up with Lebara. The deal was recommended on ML website. Our main criteria when choosing new provider were supported Wi-Fi calling (we live out in the sticks with bad signal) and free roaming in Europe (we travel often). We opted for a deal with Lebara that ticked both boxes at a very…
