Mobile data eaten up even on light usage ?
I’ve just
signed up for a contract with 3GB monthly data which by all accounts should be
enough for a light user like me, not doing social media or videos, just
checking websites and maps for info etc. But when I
started measuring usage it’s become apparent that such activity uses far more
than I anticipated. For instance,…

Who do you entrust with your number
Hi,A few years ago I chose RWG as the home for my long term number and that now seems to be a less than ideal choice. So, my question is, who/how do you entrust your number that you want to retain long term?Or, do you not bother with a number for life and just change all the services/contacts that rely on a registered phone…

MSE/talkmobile deal with £40 Amazon voucher
Around the start of November I saw in the weekly newsletter an MSE SIM-only deal with Talkmobile which included a £40 Amazon voucher after 100 days. I signed up but stupidly didn't screengrab the details, and now I'm wondering (a) why I'm paying more each month than I expected and (b) what the precise deal was with the £40…

Is Vodafone misleading customers about switching?
I was told by Vodafone that if I switched to the much less expensive Lebara- which uses the same network - my data speeds would be in the 'slow lane', call quality would be worse and customer service abysmal. There was a risk also that I would lose the number I've had for 26 years in the porting process, she said. Really?…

This question was discussed in 2006 and again in 2017, with answers ranging from, 'I change my handset every 2-3 months' to '10 years old and going strong'. How have things changed in 2023? Let us know: how old is the mobile handset you currently use? 🗣️📱

Sim or eSim
I'm thinking of changing my sim-only contract to iDMobile who have a good deal, and have a couple of questions. 1. They offer a choice of physical Sim or eSim. I've always used a physical one. What are the advantages and disadvantages of an eSim? 2. Any particular reason not to use iDMobile? The negatives I've seen on this…

Lebara WIFI calling - warning
We recently signed up for the cheap Lebara sim-only deal on the back of the information sent out on the MSE weekly e-mail. Vodafone PAYG1 is now PAYG £2 - Rip-off
I wonder how many people on PAYG1 haven't be informed that it all changed on the 11th December! Some of us are used to getting "promotional" texts for Big Value bundles, but if you're a low user you probably, like me, ignore them until such time as you know you're going to want 30 days worth of use. Well I've had several…
