Best tariff for a 'dumb' phone.
I was rather infuriated over the weekend to find out that last year EE conned my mother in to moving from her existing contract to a new one at £12.50 a month with a 20GB data allowance. She was told she had to change as she was out of contract and was apparently unable to get the person she was talking with to understand her needs, so just accepted what they suggested was the best offer.
I'm not exactly sure what they think she is going to do with 20GB of data on a Nokia 106!
Anyway, I'm looking for the easiest and cheapest tariff to move her over to, but I'm struggling to work out what is best.
PAYG on 1p mobile looks cheapest - she'd use less than the £10 per 120 day top up requirement, but there does not appear to be a way to automate those top-ups. I've seen using boosts suggested elsewhere, but again this requires manual intervention which would be beyond her.
Is there anything cheaper than Spusu or Mozillion at around £5 a month? I've discounted Lebara as the vodaphone signal where she lives seems quite poor. Usage is only texts and a few calls, so very limited.

Asda do a £4/mth text/talk deal but it's a Vodafone MVNO.
You could use Giffgaff (O2) as a PAYG (25p/minute, 10p/text) with auto-top-up when balance drops below £3 although it's a bit "open-ended" on cost.
Whatever option you choose, make sure it's running OK in the Nokia before swapping the number over.

£3.90 500 minutes and 3Gb Data
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.0 -
If you need to stay with the identical EE signal, then RWGMobile is a EE based MVNO, they do a £2/month tariff with 100 mins and 100 texts, or £3.50/month for unlimited.
