Leaving and returning to o2
I've been with o2 for years and I'm out of contract. The signal is terrible everywhere but I use o2 Priority heavily.
The issue is with the forthcoming price rise I will be paying triple what I am being offered as a new customer. I've spoken with customer services and they won't come close to matching it.
So my question is can I get my PAC code, move to another network on PAYG for a month then get a PAC code from the new provider and move back to o2 on a new customer deal?
I can't see anything to stop me doing that but has anyone done similar.
The other potential option is to join a new network on contract with an eSIM and get an actual SIM for o2 PAYG. Would that work? Has anyone done that?

The answer to both of your questions is Yes.
You can get Priority even with an O2 payg sim and ideally access it via WiFi in order to save on data charges. You can still get the old payg sims on ebay.

I get access to O2 Priority with Virgin broadband so that's another possibility to explore if it's available in your area.

"I've been with o2 for years and I'm out of contract. The signal is terrible everywhere"
I'm puzzled? It must be a hell of a benefit you get out of O2 priority.

Like I suspect many people using my phone to make or receive calls is a pretty rare event these days 😂
As I'm mostly either at home or at work it isn't really too much of an issue that the signal isn't great in crowded areas due to network over saturation. There's one o2 benefit that I stick around for and that's priority tickets. As someone who goes to 50+ shows a year that's a huge benefit in a world where ticket buying is increasingly a mad scramble as so many shows sell out immediately.
