Lebara porting issues
Signed up with the latest Lebara deal last week and am having no end of porting problems. My number was supposed to have moved on Monday, got an email on Tuesday saying it had completed. Still cannot receive any calls. Texts out and in show the old number. Only saving grace is data seems to be working ok.
Have contacted the Lebara chat, and repeatedly get told it will be fixed by the end of the day and it is due to moving data from my old provider. I think they are overloaded since the deals in the last couple of weeks.
It's not a one-off. My wife signed up at the same time and the same situation is happening with her number.
Great SIM only deal, but I would not advise porting your number to them if you need incoming calls.

Did you port number over weekend?
Never port numbers over weekend.1 -
No, port was on Monday

Lebara are building a new 'next generation' network - they are moving away from being a simple white labelled Vodafone reseller to a full MVNO. This means they will be running their own core and running their own infrastructure and just using Vodafone's masts, whereas previously everything was provided by Vodafone and Lebara just provided marketing and customer support. They are also now responsible for handling their own ports etc.
People definately need to be aware of the new network and realise 'new' Lebara is nothing like old Lebara!2 -
Who are you porting from? And does your old sim still work?

Lebara have been having porting issues since they started their next gen core network. Some poor people have had to wait two weeks to get things sorted
When you add in Lebara's poor customer service there have been some frustrated people.

Still not resolved. Been fobbed off constantly by their so-called customer service. "It'll be fixed in 24 hours", etc.
Porting over from Vodafone. Current situation is that if you can call out of the ported number and data seem to work, so these appear to have moved over. If you call in, there is a voice message saying the number is currently unavailable. Texts to the ported number disappear into the ether. However it appears you can text out using Lebara's original number. What a mess. Really regret doing this now.
You get what you pay for, ultimately. You really do have to factor in the risk of things going badly wrong when considering this sort of company.
Whether or not this gets fixed in the next few days, I'm giving up on Lebara (any my old numbers) and going somewhere else. I'll probably use the Lebara Sims (at £1.50/m) as Data only backups for a few weeks then ditch them.1 -
Have you changed all the settings on your phone as per the text they send you?
My experience FYI. Requested Sim on 19th, Sim arrived on 20th, started porting process with porting scheduled for 23rd. Porting completed by 3pm on 23rd. No problems at all.

Those are nothing to do with porting, that is done at the service provider level and not on the phone.

My experience with Lebara so far.
- They said in welcome email they would let me know when new SIM was despatched. They didn't, but new SIM did arrive in 2 days
- New SIM worked for data and outgoing calls/SMS but not for anything incoming, so unable to link new phone number to MyLebara account in app or on website. Tried different phones and settings, nothing worked. Poorly designed web forms, keep asking for phone number in 077. form but was provided in email using 4477, so have to copy/edit every time
- Unable to contact Customer Services was closed after 11pm.
- Tried again after approx 12 hours, and it has now started working, incoming works and can link account with no etc.
- Can't find out how to use my STAC code to terminate old O2 account. Wanted new number not port old with PAC. Can find form to enter PAC, but not STAC. Only references to STAC on help are how to request STAC when moving away from Lebara.
- Guess have to try to contact Customer Services again. Isn't use of STAC a standard thing?

Took almost a full week for our SIMs to arrive but that may have been Royal Mail not Lebara, I switched mine on a Friday
and didn't get the messages until 3pm saying the switch was in progress and to restart the phone.
It all went fairly smoothly with the only question was how long would the original EE SIM still be active, it stayed live
all over the weekend and Monday where 2 other SIMs set to swap on Monday and Tuesday all seemed to go
through quicker. So maybe best to leave to the start of a week in future.
Just waiting to see if the final EE bill is correct or if they add on spurious charges that I have had from other providers in the past.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
