Thinking of switching to utility warehouse - any used their £400 early contract end feature

If you bring energy, broadband and mobile to UW they say they will refudn up to £400 early contract termination charges on the mobile or broadband.

I am not currently in a mobile contract but thinking if I take out a handset contract with a total term payable of £400 before switching to UW then effectively I will get a free handset.

Does this make sense?

I think....

It makes no sense whatsoever. Why not continue without a contract, keep your existing mobile or if it is really in need of replacement buy one outright. SIM only on a non contract basis is better value and you are not stuck for perhaps 24 months.

UW want you to take a bundle and then you are stuck.

How does their charges stack up over the period of the contract?

I would search & see what the reviews are like.

The utility tariff is the best for my needs, taking the £5 sim reduces the utility cost by 3.50 per month so 1.50 per month for 10gb is fine for me, no need for the lycramobile switch in out to get the price.

The broadband is currently a bit pants so may wait until they have a 6 months half price offer again. Get a bundle of 3 and you get a 100 mc gift card and 150 quidco/topcashback.

Plus up to £400 of contract early termination charges. I can get a pixel 9a on a 24 month contract for 437 all in, switch the sim to UW and send the early termination bill of £400 ish to UW and I have a free handset worth 300 on ebay on top of the other stuff - and an electricity contract that is about 20 per month cheaper than the alternatives.

    I think....

I would expect they will say that is not an early termination charge.
