We have recently purchased a hot tub and our electric usage has increased considerably . We are on a fixed tariff at the moment with Octopus. would we be better off changing to an Economy 7 tariff?

Collective Nov26 - Gas supplier.
I did the Collective Nov26 duel fuel switch from Octopus Energy to British Gas. A few weeks ago I had found out that my Gas supply is with Octopus. Both suppliers is still referring me to the other. I have asked BG to request the switch and they said to ask OE.I had read the BG customer service is poor but I was not…

Can I be forced to have a smart meter?
Hi, I'm new here so please forgive any faux pas... but here goes. We have solar panels on the roof, which don't make us a huge amount of money; but they make us more than they would otherwise because we have an old analog meter which actually rolls backwards while the panels are generating juice. Obviously we'd like to…

The Government Is Quietly Changing Your FIT Solar Payments
I'm unsure if I've posted this in the right place but it needs to be broadcast far and wide. The video that alerted me to this can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPAefR-6SCw The "consultation" it refers to can be found at https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/feed-in-tariffs-fit-scheme-indexation-changes…

OVO billing issue
I recently moved house and closed my account with Ovo which had been energy provider for over 4 years. When I closed my account, it was over £1000 in credit. I was told the credit would be reimbursed as soon as they issued the final bill, within 4 weeks. Time went by and I contacted them multiple times, but nothing was…

British Gas overpayments
I left British Gas over a year ago now having joined Octopus. I am sure I inadvertently paid to much by sending another tenants meter reading during my time with British Gas. I was wondering if there is any chance I could get reimbursed the excess money that I paid?

ex Tomato Energy moving to British Gas special tariff?
Hello all, has anybody experienced issues selecting their 'special' tariff to ex Tomato Energy customers? As in my experience unit rates and standing charges which meant to be exclusive till the 5th of December are completely different once you sign up for them? Thank you.

Switch into Fixed Rate
Following Martin's programme last night I checked out the Eon Next 18 month fixed rate, decided I liked it and applied direct to Eon to switch. Rather surprised to be told by Eon that although my transfer decision wasto choose Eon on the basis of that fix, I would not be guaranteed that rate and that my trransfer would be…

Issues Post Switching- Octopus
Hello We switched to Octopus in July this year after issues with Ovo (different post). We switched from E10 (Ovo) to E7 (Octopus). We have a smart meter and were assured that switching would be simple. It hasn't been. We have encountered several issues, the main one being that we are now on an E7 tariff but our meter is…

Ofgem faulty meter back billing rules
Earlier this year (late spring and summer) my gas smartmeter stopped working. It did not just turn into a "dumb meter" but completely stopped working. After it was replaced, I was issued with a bill for which my usage was estimated for a period of almost 2 and a half months, across three billing periods. Thinking the bill…

British Gas, Collective Nov26
Hi, I applied for the BG Collective Fix through MSE Energy Club a month ago but I've heard nothing back from BG. Are others experiencing delays? My current BG fix expires end of Oct so I'm concerned BG are stalling. They had already offered me a new fix before the MSE Collective offer cam up and they are still offering…

Octopus fixed tariff ending soon - deferred switch to new Octopus fixed tariff possible
Just wanted to make people aware that from my experience it is possible to arrange a switch from an Octopus fixed rate tariff coming to an end to a new Octopus fixed rate tariff but with the change deferred to the end date of the ending tariff. By 'coming to an end' I mean within the last 42 days, and the 'tariff coming to…

Unable to submit Electricity Meter Readings Online with British Gas
I recently switched only to BG only to find I could not submit electricity meter readings online. I do not have a smart meter. Has anyone else had this problem? I raised a complaint after 7 days but as there was no work around so I have switched back to my previous supplier where I could submit online readings. They want…

Octopus' recommended monthly direct debit amount - take care
Apologies if this has been covered before, but my understanding is that a fixed amount DD with an energy provider evens out periods of credit in the summer against those winter months when you are likely to move into a temporary debt position. I am an Octopus customer and regularly use their online balance projection to…

Energy supplier refusing to back bill
Hi, Recently sought help from the ombudsman regarding a direct debit issue with payment adequacy. The ombudsman couldn't help with that but suggested the remedy of back billing as octopus allowed my direct debit to be set too low. This remedy was agreed but octopus have not discounted my account. They have allowed me to…
