Some months ago I reported that my smart meter wasn't showing readings on my IHD or mini to Octopus (gas was reporting & showed bill). After some time I ended up with a new meter .I was also told by the person I reported to that all the electricity I used would be on the "standard rate",(I was on "Go" for my electric car) the meter fitter left a sticker on the meter which I have sent a photo of to Octopus, l know I'm not getting paid for my £500 worth of export , but do they estimate my use & charge me for that or what happens next, also claim to be doing an update on my system to ensure more accurate half hourly readings any idea how long this is likely to take (new meter fitted yesterday ,showing readings on bright app & mini

After some time I ended up with a new meter … new meter fitted yesterday

Your post is a little confusing. Have you had two meter replacements, or only one? And the most recent replacement was only yesterday?

I was also told by the person I reported to that all the electricity I used would be on the "standard rate",(I was on "Go" for my electric car)

If Octopus weren't getting half-hourly readings, then yes you're likely to be charged on the SVT for that period.

the meter fitter left a sticker on the meter which I have sent a photo of to Octopus,

That sticker had closing meter readings on it? What readings are shown?

l know I'm not getting paid for my £500 worth of export

If the sticker has a closing export reading, I would expect that yes you will get paid for it.

claim to be doing an update on my system to ensure more accurate half hourly readings any idea how long this is likely to take

Could be a couple of days, could be a couple of weeks.

    OK, that's helpful.

Are either of those readings your export reading? Or are they both import? If you don't know, you could check your latest export statement and see if one of those makes sense in context.

Thanks QrizB. one does look close so we will see how it goes more out of curiosity really, further research suggests the update is the "onboarding process" which may take up to two weeks, so there we go….. nologo
