Best way to dispute energy and utility bills?
I've been overcharged by my energy supplier and broadband provider a few times this year. The process of disputing them is painful, hours on hold, having to quote regulations, escalating to managers. Has anyone found a good way to automate this or make it less painful? I know there's Resolver and Citizen's Advice but I'm…

Would someone care to try and explain this (Energy Price Cap)
So today my mother received an email detailing her new prices for G&E for April '26, for the record, she is on Economy 7, uses over a 12 month period, twice as much electricity at night than she does day, and has only one gas appliance, a heater in her front room. So, the changes are as follows… Electricity Standing Charge…

Can't Compare till Fixed Tariff rate from April are released
I'm looking to change fix tarriff on Eon next but it's impossible to work out as we don't know what the unit or standing charge on my fixed rate will be to calculate as the new tarriffs already include the April 1st reductions? Wish companies were forced to release what current tarrifs would be so we can compare.

Disappearing and/or Updating (more £££) Energy Fixes
This morning I decided to sign up for a 2 year fix with EDF (I am on one with them that is about to run out). I signed up for Simply Fixed 2Yr Mar28v5 . By mid-afternoon that had been replaced with V6 which is £50 a month more expensive, with EDF seriously hiking the gas unit price within the fix. I know fixing is not for…

Outfox the Market withdraw all Fixed Rate Contracts from offer
As of today, 19th March 2026, OFTM have stopped offering Fixed Rate Contracts. When asked why they stated that it was "Due to the uncertainty of Wholesale Market prices". I expect all the other suppliers will start pulling their Fixed Rate offers leaving only Variable Rate contracts to choose from when your fix expires. A…

Energy Consumption Reduction excercise

This has been trailed widely as likely to lead to a 6 to 9 percent reduction in bills; Not for everyone it seems, my cost will actually increase by 3%.…

Octopus Tracker
Hi all. Has anyone out there braved the Tracker tariff throughout the winter? If so, has it worked out to be very expensive? I have kept an eye on the rates, and they have appeared to be very high for a lot of the time. I bottled out towards the end of last year and went on a decent fix. The thing is, what to do when my…

With OVO waiting for the crash?
Investigating whether to wait of switch seems to show that to wait and let OFGEM inform me of my new supplier is not a big deal and the new company takes on the service and my credit. Has anyone a different experience of their Electric company failing and being switched? I've been looking at E.on and Sainsbury (seem to be…

EDF On line Account info
EDF has changed what we see online : "We've changed the way we show your account balance You'll now see the balance from your latest bill. To me this is a backward step as it does not reflect the actual credit - it makes the account balance lower than it is. Before it would have shown any DD's made, and Sunday Savings or…
