Comparing electricity tariffs by unit rates rather than payment (Economy 7)
I have an electricity-only home and am on an Economy 7 tariff (i.e. Day and Night unit rates). I'm prepared to shop around to find the best tariff to be on. I understand you need to agree to a monthly Direct Debit amount (or quarterly, or whatever). But what I really want is to track down the tariff with the best night…

Utility Warehouse - complete inability to tell night from day
Hi, I have an Economy 7 tariff with Utility Warehouse. I faithfully submit meter readings (Day and Night) to them in order to keep bills accurate, and ensure with an eagle eye and high levels of diligence that I always submit these the correct way round. However, they are without fail always applied the incorrect way round…

smart meter
we have recently had a smart metre with economy 7 night rate and day rate r1 r2 since we've had it the day. rate clocks up between 4:00 and 7 KW hours overnight with only the fridge, freezer and Wi-Fi on. I think this is wrong. also the night rate which heats up our storage heaters clocks up the normal amount has anyone…

Home Energy.
Has anyone any information on the above company. I am thinking of changing energy to them as on the Cheap Energy Clubs website it is £184 cheaper per annum for me.You need to look at all suppliers on the CEC website to get comparisons not what they can switch you to.

Energy suppliers and the £400 grant
Are they basing their direct debit amounts for new fixes Inclusive of the monthly grant or are they ignoring it, in which case winter monthly DDs should be £30+ lower?

Lack of response from GivEnergy
I am looking for anyone who has had dealings with GivEnergy in the hope that they could advise me what action I can take. So far I have contacted Citizen's Advise and Ofgem and created a complaint with Resolver. In April we were approached by the company who fitted our solar system, Solar Armour. They suggested that we…

British Gas Bills
Hi All I am having nothing but trouble with my British Gas Bills. My mother died last year then British Gas started bombarding me with letters and request for payments etc. I have now spoken to three or four separate people from British Gas who have assured me that everything has been sorted out with accurate bills and the…

Do you use Fuse Energy? What do think? How is the customer service? The App? Billing? Please let me hear your reviews. I've read the previous threads, Trust pilot etc. I'd like to hear from current or previous users. I'd also like to hear the same about Outfox the Market? It's time for me to divorce 🐙 It's been a long time…

Scottish Power bill high (not first post about this)
Ok so a few months back I wrote about how SP were billing me around £85 a month for just electricity, gas is with another company (and rarely used) At the time I had dual meters but SP refused to change them to single meter saying as I had gas heating I wasn't affected by the teleswitch removal. Then suddenly in July they…

Do you have to be on the electricity grid customer?
I'm in the midst of other energy research at the moment, when this thought came to me. I am a customer of the electricity company, but do I have to be? If I can provide all my electrical needs, can I tell them to disconnect the service? If it is possible, could I just have an electricity supply for 3 months? Is there…

Frozen smart meter
We have smart meters from Scottish power. Both electric and gas are pay as you go. Over 2 years ago our electric meter reading froze, and has not recorded any increase in our usage since, so we have essentially been getting free electricity since then. It was reported at the time, and they said they would send an engineer…

uSwitch power hours
First I would like to say 👋as I'm new to this forum. Has anyone done the uSwitch 5 hours weekend free electric before? I've signed up for it but notice that if you are already opted in to a similar one with your energy company you have to opt out of that because you are automatically registered with uSwitch and can't be in…

Energy quote after moving
I have recently moved home and was paying no more than £150 a month on my gas and electric, prior to moving I contacted the supplier of the new property and was quoted more than £600 a month on a fixed term, after moving I was then quoted over £700 a month for a fixed term deal. I haven't signed up to a deal and am going…

Solax Hybrid X1 Inverter - Charging from grid
I am an Octopus user and am combining the Outgoing Octopus (15p) tariff with Agile In the (frequent) periods of negative or cheap electric I am manually switching to "Backup Mode" to force the battery to charge from the grid However, this charge from the grid seems to be limited to 1kw. I know that my inverter can handle…

Charged twice for usage when switching provider
I switched from Utilities Warehouse to Octopus. I have smart meters and also took a photo of the meter reading on the morning I switched. I have now received a final bill from Utilities and been charged £10 + for electricity after I switched. Octopus have also charged me for this usage. I have been back to both Companies…

E.On Next compensation
I've had a saga with E.On Next where they suddenly tried to back-bill me for £9,000 that they claimed was due to a prior adjustment going back to 2021. Now they've conceded they were wrong and we're haggling over compensation. After telling me I owed them £9k, they said they were putting my monthly direct debit up to over…

Octopus intelligence go tariff issues
Hi Ive been on this tariff for 3 months now and everything was going well. My hypervolt charger was connected to octopus and I was getting plenty of off peak rate and using around 850-1000kwh electricity in total a month as I do fair bit of driving. Don't have solar panels, battery unit or heat pumps. Then as of yesterday…

EON next drive smart V5.2 tariff
As my current supplier, Tomato energy, is on its last leg, I figured that the above tariff is my next best option. Iam confused about the smart charging. I understand that you can charge your EV during peak time at off peak rate (only EV, not appliances) but is that anytime during the day? I leave the house at 7 am and…
