Dimplex quantum 150 single supply O/P tariff screen help please
Back to the quantums: my main 150 is single supply. I have set the tariff times on the hidden menu to 01:32 - 08:28 and the other slots 08:28 - 08:28 to prevent them being activated. All fine until I noticed when scrolling though the usual menu, via the dial, that the O/P tariff screen has the first slot as 00:03 - 00:00. I am pretty sure it always used to be 00:00 - 00;00 and there is no way to set it manually.
Does anyone know what it's up to?
I have reset it but that did nothing, It's been on for the last couple of nights and the charging time looked pretty usual but then of course I wouldn't be able to tell if it's charged at the wrong time anyway.Scratch that: I've used checked the day/night readings and although they are not half hourly, there isn't much change between last month's day usage and this month.

This screen shows non charge timings offset from the e7 timings - is it worth setting say the others to 0900 0900 in case its confusing it.
AFAIK The O/P screen you refer to is normally driven off of the ALCS switched secondary wiring - in your case live 24/7 so whereas in dual wired it should read your meter switching around 0132 / 0828 etc - it will never see it off/on.
It's a monitoring output only AFAIK - it tells users what the supply has done over previous 24 hours your heating should follow the set times.
Their are other screens that tell you charge taken - after initial switch on I'd expect as much as 18-20kWh from some heaters - so you could use those. total kWh/c3.3 kW rating on the 150 at nominal 240V.
Its a bit old now - and the displays can vary with versions - but some typical screens - and a guide
Take it you havent got 1/2 hourly smart data available.

No, unfortunately I haven't got 30 min data. I used to have the Loop app (I think? Or bright?) but it stopped working.
That would suggest it has been charging for that length of time then?!
I can't see anything today as I just reset it.
What's best to do? I set the charge times fine.0 -
Loop went registered only or some such - so maybe why no longer works.
I think Bright still works - but is perhaps overkill to check if heaters being charged at correct rate.
If you can safely reach and able to read your meter - you could compare peak and off peak registers - assuming your on a standard E7 tariff over the next couple of days.
Perhaps easier check you suppliers on line account portal if have a good one or as I did in the end to get daily - try their mobile app - as will likely show you daily kWh used - and whether that use at off peak or peak rates.
Your IHD - if really modern - might split out peak and off peak too - but my old smets1 doesn't - it only gives total register .
My EOn Next app sometimes takes a day or two to update over the weekends but you should be able to look at a few days history soon enough.
As above some NSH takes a lot of energy in early use after switch off - but I dont have a Quantum - nearly did - so studiud the manuals for a few brands (so I am not sure exactly how much a Dimplex would heat up by - out of its c 23kWh nominal max charge (7x3.3 for a 150 at 240V on E7)) - bit it should stand out if doing so.
One of the other brands defaults to 80% charge target - around 18kWh on the Dimplex - for their similar sized HHR model. But how close to that the Dimplex goes ?

Yes, I did that already. September day rate usage is the same as now in October - I just looked at the first couple of weeks in Sept and this past week - so going on that I am pretty sure the quantum isn't using the day rate. Does the O/P tariff screen update daily?

Yes it does - but only if device on midnight to midnight - but not sure that or the screen before it is that useful for single wired (3 - the one saying off peak on for 419 mins (7hrsx60-1m reason?) - as that may say 1min short of 24 hours if anything in single wired) - but as I say it's pretty meaningless for single wired - as it just tells you when the signal is live.
Not when your heater actually uses the power - or how much.
So even with ALCS - on for 7 hours - it will say 7 hrs whether or not the heaters charge for 1 or 4 or 7 etc.
In the help link - I think you might want to see if you can see the equivalent of the "History Screen 2" - that actually tells you not when - but how much charge is taken each day. Maybe also a nice number to be aware of - as that what drives the heating cost.
Also be wary about the presence of the was it c1.1kW on 150 boost heater - check the manuals and modes for that - bit hazy on how to disable / prevent auto use.

Do you mean switch the boost off - or I think put it so it is drawing from the core (can't remember the exact terminology - basically not drawing on off-peak)? If so, yes, this is off - it's in the hidden menu.
I did find the history screen before I reset it and nothing looked amiss there. One day was 0 as it was milder so didn't charge.0
