FUSE energy prepayment £400 required to switch
I've just tried to switch energy supplier for my OAP mom and also myself to FUSE and BOTH applications are demanding £400 up front payment for a credit check flag. There is no issue from the credit or banking side or previous suppliers - are they trying to get some positive cash in the bank up front or what??? Any one else…

Maybe getting solar panels - Fix?
I’m currently with Octopus on the standard tariff (no fix). I recently applied to the government warm home and it looks like I’ve qualified for solar panels, the installer is doing an “Aspestos survey” in a couple of weeks, and if all ok (should be) they will book a date for installation. Before all this started, I did…

Cheap Energy Club. Can't change my tariff.
I'm getting emails reminding me to change tariff. I've already done so but I cannot change my details in the CEC page. I select my new tariff, alter the date of expiry but when I return to the Home page no change has been made. What might I be doing wrong?

Warning re 24/7 Home Rescue
Dear all I just wanted to give some feed back on the terrible service we have had this Christmas from 24/7 Home Rescue. Firstly, they are not 24/7 - whist you can make a claim with the engineering company they outsource their work to, you can't actually speak to them directly because they are closed until 5 January 2015!…

Octopus Tracker contract coming to it's end.
My Octopus tracker tariff is coming to the end of contract (electricity only). Octopus have notified me and said that I will then automatically go on to their Flexible Octopus tariff at Unit rate: 26.33p / kWh - Standing charge: 54.55p / day. What should I do, are there any better electricity tariffs around?

Problems with EonNEXT and FiT payments
Is anyone else still having problems with getting their quarterly FiT payments from EonNEXT since npower transferred their FiT scheme to them? EonNEXT seem to be in chaos about who is a member of the transferred FiT scheme. They owe me well over £1000 for solar-generated power and still haven't processed my September…

Incorrect Octopus Energy smart meter readings
Is anyone else having totally rogue readings with their actual smart meter? My son averages 30p actual usage per day during the summer months as the only gas appliance is his cooker hob which he barely uses. During the last 2 months and after an 'upgrade' to his previous smart meter the daily usage is totally erratic some…

EDF Refer a Friend
https://www.edfenergy.com/refer-a-friend To make clear, not looking to either refer or be refereed. Looking to move to their standard tariff without any exit fees. I've had a look at the T&Cs and can't see you have to be on a certain tariff. My thought is a could move again soon after being paid penalty free. Anyone see…

Unsolicited Call From (presumed) Broker
I received a call to my mobile from a Manchester number. The caller expected to be speaking to a family member - ie they had her name but my mobile number. The caller wanted to speak to her about her British Gas account. That must be reference to a charity she's involved with, which uses BG for electricity. So now I'm…

Octopus 3 hour Free Electricity Session tomorrow
Hi All, Octopus have a 3 hour free electricity session tomorrow from 12-3pm, for extra electricity used above normal usage. I'm specifically wondering how they calculate this over longer sessions such as this 3h session. We are on Octopus Cosy, so normally our usage is zero between 12-1pm (as we're on battery) but would…

British Gas electricity Economy 7 tariffs offered to me are very disappointing
I m a five year customer of British/Scottish Gas for electricity. My flat does not have gas as an option. I have storage heaters and my existing Economy 7 tariff has worked out well for me. Over the course of a normal year, about 70% of my total KW hours are night units. I am in Edinburgh and my existing tariff is Fixed…

Octopus intelligent go questions
I might well be missing something obvious here but can anyone confirm my reservations on switching to this tariff please. I am about to purchase an EV and am looking at sorting out how to organise home charging. Our annual mileage will be quite low (about 5000 per annum) so would not need to worry about charging every…

I'm OVO Standard
They are asking me to consider a fixed tariff. My current monthly has just gone from £63 to £75 (I've added an extra freezer in the garage and that could account for some of that, plus the hotter weather for 3 freezers and a fridge!). Should I go over to an OVO fixed or what. I'm a bit of a stuck in the mud really.

Changing from OVO Standard to E-ON fixed.
I have a signal by my meter of -115dB far less that needed for a reliable Smart meter connection. Although I would save 11% and more later I am wary of !!!!!!-ups in getting the meter installed and the aerial needed, etc. Considering staying on standard as OVO does not seem to have a way of changing to a fixed deal on their…

Switching to Eon Next Drive Tariff
Approximately 3 weeks ago, as I was coming to the end of my current fixed price contract with my previous energy supplier I investigated what other fixed price electricity supply tariffs were around for someone with an EV. Eon Next Drive Smart v6.9 came out on top, so I applied to switch on the 1st August. It is not 6th…

Octopus Intelligent Go 6 hour changes being rolled out.
Upcoming changes notice, from octopus Electric vehicles are booming. In March 2026, over 22% of new cars sold in the UK were electric, and the old fear of "range anxiety" is practically dead. With modern ranges hitting 300 miles and a rapidly growing network of ultra-rapid chargers, most drivers just plug in every few days…

Are there any comparison site for business energy?
Wondering if anyone is aware of any web sites comparing business energy pricing, specifically electricity, in the same way there are for residential. I've had a look around but all that I have found want to pass details onto a broker rather than actually offering any data. Thanks.

E-on can't access smart meter after switch, now overcharging me
Having got an EV and home charger, I switched to E-On's "Next Drive Fixed V23" tariff, at 9p per KwH overnight. They say they can't connect to my smart meter (which worked fine with Octopus) and have stuck me on their basic tariff at 23.8p per KwH. The latest email said " "We'll be in touch to let you know what exactly…

Uswitch 25 hours free electricity
I’ve seen a promotion advertised by Uswitch offering 25 hours free electricity if you connect your smart meter. Has anyone taken part in this before as I think they may have ran something similar at Christmas? I assume the catch is they collect and sell your usage data to target you with tailored tariffs?…
