Octopus VPP
Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem?
I transferred from Tracker to Flux today as I have just had a Fox ESS battery installed. Set up the import for 2-5 am, but no export as I want to get a feel for the system and ensure I will have enough power for evening use.
The Octopus app prompted me to "Add device" ie battery, which I did. The Fox app now tells me my system is now under the control of Octopus, which overrides the manual settings and the schedule says it forced a battery charge at 14.30 to 15.30. It then went on to discharge my battery starting at 16.30 to 18.30, meaning I've been drawing from the grid this evening. Overnight forced charge is scheduled for 2.00 to 4.30am.
I understand this is a new set-up and there will be some tweaks I don't understand, but it seems to me that Octopus is using the system as though I'm on Intelligent Flux when I'm definitely on vanilla Flux! Is this just a settling-in problem or do I need to get the VPP removed, which I've heard can take weeks.

Octopus VPP is only intended for use in conjunction with the Intelligent Octopus Flux tariff, not with "vanilla" Octopus Flux.
You need to get your battery removed from VPP.
Edit: see also this thread from earlier in the year.

As above.
Plus you should be able to remove the battery from the octopus app. No need to contact them and wait for them to do it.
Devices can appear in more than one place, so if you can't find the option via the option at the bottom of the screen (pretty sure it is this way anyway), try clicking your profile icon top right and go into devices that way.

Contacted Octopus on X/Twitter and they have technically removed me from the VPP and expedited my Flux export. However, they said it could take days to fully "de-authenticate" my battery and I still can't change the charging/export schedule they imposed. This only gives me 30 mins to charge at the cheap rate and would still fully discharge the battery at peak time. Hopefully I can manage the next 48 hours on self-use and see if I get back full control.

Check if you can still do it yourself via the app. It's much quicker than way.
