Outfox
Be careful if you are looking to fix with Outfox. My current fix is due to end in February. I called them to ask specific if I signed on a new fixed tariff and when I asked if when the rates come down in April after the budget announcement I was told the reduction of £150 would not apply to fixed tariff customers. That…

Does anyone know the status of the proposed zero standing charge tariff

closure in 2024 suggested all utility suppliers were to offer at least one tariff
by Winter 2025. Well, one year later and

Confused about energy comparison table
I'm not sure if it's correct or a typo but there's a table on this site that looks odd. When you go to the Energy section of the forum, at the top there is a link called "Fix or Stay on the Price Cap". If you go down that page, you'll find a table headed "The Cheapest Energy Fixes" under the header Top Energy Deals. The…

Special Energy Deals
I had a random phone call this morning from a salesperson. When I get unknown calls I usually just say "no thankyou" and immediately hang up, but this morning I did listen for a few seconds longer. The chap quoted Martin Lewis and news that energy prices are rising and most people are paying too much for their energy. I…

EDF refuse to implement an ombundsman decision
We have a 9 hour off-peak tariff (aka White Meter). In April EDF installed a Smart meter with a 7 hour tariff, in spite of written and recorded verbal guarantees that the off-peak hours would not change, and I raised a complaint. After they lied and prevaricated I raised a complaint with the ombudsman, who decided in my…

Scottish Pre pay meter query?
I have just gone over to a pre pay smart meter. It seems that a percentage of my meter payment is going into this account? I understand that there is a…

Switching from British gas to EON after moving into a property has been a nightmare for my daughter
Moved into a property in March25, contacted British Gas immediately to switch the supply to Eon. Received an email to say the switch had taken place and started to pay Eon for their supply of gas. Roll onto November and, upon a billing query, was told by Eon the switch hadn't taken place and British Gas were still the…

Heat exchanger
Re my previous post "water cylinder" I was wrong and the part is called the heat exchanger (combined boiler). The gas engineer said it costs around £1000 to replace and that I should unfortunately get a new boiler. Researching online seems to suggest that it would be cheaper than getting a new boiler. Is the engineer…
