Switching to new energy deal before previous one finishes
Hi, I was wondering if it's possible to book an energy deal in advance, so the contract under that tariff starts only after my current energy deal finishes. That is even if the new companies tariff increases in the interim period.

Is anybody on the Nibe PeakPay Pilot Scheme?
The scheme is run by Shuffle Energy as a pilot for 12 months. I'm awaiting to see if we are accepted. We are running a Nibe S1256-8 with 700m of coils (nice wet ground). They sent an invitation in February which I noted but never did anything, but took a closer look today. It's a Demand Side Response (DSR) scheme,…

Warm Home Discount issue - BG Energy
Has anyone else received their Warm Home Discount with British Gas? I thought it would be applied to my energy account as like previous years as I pay by direct debit but they are saying that I have to wait until my next bill which is due end of May and the discount should show on there off my bill for the past three…

Meter certification date - dispute with Octopus
I have a Landis + Gyr 5235A electricity meter. It has a 20 year certification period. The certification stamp on the meter clearly says September 2009, meaning it's not due for replacement until 2029. This is backed up by the Landis + Gyr spec sheet, Citizens Advice, and Octopus's own website. An Octopus agent has…

Economy 7 / 7am cheap rate
It's probably been asked a million times already but does anyone know which electricity supplier I should use if I want the old economy 7 tariff? Usually that was 12am to 7am at the lower rate. A lot of companies now have reduced their overnight window and that's not as good for me. Some end at 5:30am, a lot of them end at…

Thinking "outside the box" British energy prices Vs comparable markets
Whilst most of us are "in the game" of tariff and "savings" with ever so many suppliers etc, I just can not come to terms it being at least double the price of IE Spain prices, never mind paying "standing charges" and don't get me started on "exit-fee" scams. https://www.energyprices.eu/electricity/spain Am I wrong or is…

Scam Call? EDF MPAAS?
I received a call supposed to be from MPAAS on number 03308088910 I was told they had been instructed by EDF to send out someone to come and turn off my Gas Meter as it is not working properly . I received a Statement off EDF 23rd with my gas and electric meter readings. I would not confime anything, but was dismayed that…

When I submitted my meter reading for my electricity it just then shows a much lower estimated amount! It did show my gas reading correctly however. I have tried submitting by both app and web site with no change. Just their estimated amount. The same applies to trying their phone option as well. Any ideas? I am not on a…

Scottish Power came to my door to have me switch
I feel really stupid having to write this out. Last week a guy turned up to my door and said he could save me a lot of money on my energy bills (and had just sorted my neighbour out) he said he was from Scottish power, had their tshirt with logo on and an iPad with a portal to sign people up. I stupidly fell for it, gave…

Fuse Energy still demanding high upfront payment
£500 upfront I deemed excessive when my annual bill is less than £750/an What shocked me more was at no time during the sign up was I told they would do an indepth credit search; Fuse implied it was that that flagged a poor credit history: I've paid my bills on time, have no bad debts, no flags. My feeling is this is a…

Fixing Tariff Octopus
Hello Folks, My fixed term with Octopus is up in August. Just looking at MSE's advice and it sounds like going for a fixed tariff is best option to avoid the increases that coming soon. Anyway looking at the fixed tariffs for gas and electricity Octopus is offering it looks like they have already baked the 13% or increase…

British Gas Back billing
I was really hoping someone could give advise and/or reassurance as my issues with British Gas are causing more and more distress. Energy standing Charges - OFGEM's inability to address unfair standing charges on consumers
I am writing to express my deep concern regarding OFGEM's inability to address unfair standing charges on consumers energy bills. The disproportionate standing charges applied to my and energy bill is a typical example. As a low energy user, I take every measure to reduce my energy consumption, not out of choice but out of…
