Leaving Fuse

Recently left Fuse on 7th August. I've received a statement for August from them calculated using their smart meter reads from 7th NOT the readings I gave the new supplier on the morning of the 8th, and they have taken that amount by DD.

Has anyone else left Fuse recently , and if so , did you get a small bill for the differences ?

I know it will be a tiny amount (< £2) but I don't want to leave the DD open unnecessarily.

The "normal" process that I've experienced with many transfers of supply over the past 10 years or so ,is that the losing supplier doesn't issue the final bill until the readings have been reconciled. And usually some time after the transfer date, up to 8 weeks on occasion.

Fuse have done something different this time by actually charging to the previous day/reading - I'm just asking for others experience in similar circumstances..

I can't now access Fuse's website to see if there is anything relevant on there.

Conscious of the 6 week deadline for final bills, decided to try to contact Fuse today ,to see when my final bill would be raised as it is now 39 days since I switched.

After a bit of difficulty in getting on to their chat system ,(that thought I was joining them!) , the AI bot told me that the bill raised on 2nd September and paid ,was my final bill, so looks like the gap between the closing reads on Fuse and the opening reads I gave my new supplier, will not be charged by anyone!

I thought with smart meters that these "hiccups" were a thing of the past - but apparently not.

Fuse do have a habit of doing things "their way" rather than the way everyone else does 😲 My new supplier took over on 2nd Sep so just waiting to see what is going to happen. My account shows the SCs for 1st and 3p of electric use from after the end of month poll. My calculation reckons I owe them £3.32.
