Nous co

This company claims to be able to save those that sign up hundreds of pounds a year every year in utilities, broadband and mobile phones. They do this by passing on the kickbacks they get from providers for getting you to switch and finding better deals. Has anyone had any experience of this company?

I echo @netexporter -   DIY and keep under your control.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill
  • It's easy to change provider yourself. They'll switch you to whoever gives them the biggest commission, which almost certainly won't be the best deal you can get.
True, but they pay the subscriber the commission. They also promise that the savings will always at least equal to the subscription of around £50 to £100 per year

They almost certainly don't - best they will do is split the commission (probably not 50/50)...otherwise how do they make their money to keep the business going?

Plus - an 'interesting' companies house listing 13236360

Personally I'll stick with the comparison sites which don't take an upfront fee and allow me to see all the offers/cashback before I decide which to pick ;)

    Beware snake oil salesmen !!!
  • While Nous appears to be a bit more sophisticated than the typical shady looking company trying to get people to open up their wallets, it doesn't look like they offer anything you can't do yourself for free. If there are savings to be had on your bills you'll save a lot more if you don't pay someone else to find those savings for you.

One thing to note is that, according to their privacy statement, as part of their service Nous requests access to read your emails from utilities and look though your bank transactions. Of course it's up to the individual to decide what level of their personal information they're comfortable with a company having access to, but that's not something I'd go for myself.

It will eventually have a monthly fee too. You can achieve the same using Quidco/TCB or cash backs offered by the chosen retailer.
And those websites are tried, tested, trustworthy and free

By charging people £100 a year for subscribing to something they can do themselves?
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
