Hive - Most cost effective way to use?
Hi all, As the title says, just recently had a Hive system installed in our home - for context boiler is fairly new, only about 2 years old. What is the best cost effective way to use this type of device? We tend to currently leave it off and just use the 'Boost' function as and when we get cold, however I've ready that…

Old Storage Heater. Releasing too fast by early morning. 1 thing changed recently
Hi. I've posted about my energy company here before but now its specifically about 1 storage heater on my end/responsibility. I assume they are from 1993 but there are no markings. I noticed my storage heaters weren't turning on using the night rate (RIGHT SIDE) I got an electrician to check. The wall plug area connected…

Caution with CheapEnergyClub, wrong rates!
Just a word of warning, best to double checking it's all correct before ploughing ahead with the recommended default! I was checking if my current dual energy fix was still good or worth changing. I'm with Co-op Energy/Octopus and I was surprised to see the search say OVO Energy would be £40 a year cheaper at £100 a month…

Octopus Mini flashing white, have to power cycle it to recover it.
FAQ here, flashing white not mentioned. https://octopus.energy/octopus-home-mini-faq/ What does flashing white mean? It started happening about 2 weeks ago, will trigger every 2-3 days, and only way to recover is to power cycle it, whilst flashing white it stops feeding live data.

Economy 7 smart meter working on single tariff
I was wondering if someone could provide some advice. I had a Bulb smart meter installed (generation 2) in Feb 2022, replacing my previous 'regular' economy 7 meter. My usage is mostly on the night tariff, especially in the winter months (storage heaters). I naively thought that everything was OK, but I just realized…

Economy 7, no mobile signal, imminent RTS switch off, Smart Meter and British Gas
I have Economy 7 with an RTS. There is no mobile signal here. EDF refused to install a Smart Meter at next door property due to lack of signal. I have spent the last 8 weeks having exchanges with my supplier, British Gas, about what will happen here when RTS is switched off. Their answer is that they will install a Smart…

Double charging / counting on my electricity bill?
The more I look at my bills the more confused I become! For the last period I noticed a massive spike in electricity usage which having done some calculations for the power hungry appliances in my house I'm still not sure how it would have been possible to use that much. I did the meter creep test and all fine. I started…

Access to the current meters is no issue, plenty of…

Octopus bill after 5 years
HI, just looking for some advice. I signed my Mum up to Octopus a few months ago. I submitted some readings at the start and after 3-4 months and there was no bill. I contacted them to ask them to generate a bill. What they sent on the app was a bill dated 29/8/24 to 21/11/24. However in the detail of the bill it states…

Dimplex hub with quantum
I know there was a discussion on this but if anyone uses their storage heaters with a dimplex hub can you please help? I didn't think it was worth getting a hub as the quantum has so many settings on it it seems enough. However, would a hub be able to cope with the following: if I go away and set the quantum on holiday…
