every year when clocks go back my economy 7 relay time does not change. so end up paying the time from 6.30 to 7.30 at the higher rate on charging night storage heaters and water heater.
EDF sorted it last year after sending email to Co . This year i keep being told i have to change the relay time myself. As i have no button or switch to do this this is crazy.
I would recommend any one using economy 7 on EDF to check there meter and relay change over as you could also be paying the higher rate from 6.30 to 7.30.
Have now sent email to Co as i did last year hoping he will sort it again. will keep you informed.

With a dumb meter, Economy 7 hours do not change for BST. They remain GMT all year round.
What sort of meter do you have? Can you post a photo?

  • Even with our smart meter we cannot change the time, so BST always shifts the off peak by an hour to 01:30 - 08:30 instead of 00:30 - 07:30. I think of it as a bonus as we can be up earlier as it's light and get some washing on :)

My smart meter maintains gmt for tariff and alcs control.

But the ihd and possibly the meter itself time display does switch gmt / dst - so if you like uk clock time.

So my 1-4 becomes 2-5 in summer etc.

But not convinced all block time of use tariffs operate that way from some posts here.

Like the often confusing posts in some BG ev tariff threads where some reporting meters appeared to switch and others didn't.  With the tariff page saying was fixed midnight to 5 am  - and posters saying yhat was meant to be clock time not gmt / utc regardless of season.

And I am not sure if the OP is describing a 4 port smart with 2a max thin wire to external contactor ( in my case a Proteus 100A block) or an on board switching relay for restricted load switch control - or some external timeswitch based device.

    .
  • Mine doesn't change either. I like it right now as I have split times so get 2 hours starting at 22:30, which is useful to me.
