Hi my current fix with octopus ends on the 1st of February. I spend approximately £1500 - £2000 a year.

not interested in any special tariffs, auction rates,  no electric vehicle charging, just want to reduce the annual spend and use normally

does below look a competitive deal and does it make sense to fix now for 12 months.

Electricity
Daily charge54.85 p/day
Unit rate22.46 p/kWh
Gas
Daily charge29.43 p/day
Unit rate5.74 p/kWh

the other offer they are suggesting is a variable tariff

Electricity
Daily charge54.85 p/day
Unit rate24.12 p/kWh
Gas
Daily charge29.43 p/day
Unit rate6.19 p/kWh

Will the new fix take place immediately, or at the end of your current one?
    Accuming it's the latter ...
Usually, you can leave Octopus's fixed rate deals at any time without penalty.
If that's the case for your offer, it seems a better deal than the variable rate. (The variable rate is expected to rise slightly in the New Year.)

Forecasts seem to have softened again and are looking at a fall in Apr & Jul with a slight rise in Oct but below current.  Those rates seem to tie in with that and Eon are offering 18m at a cap rate of £1611 compared to current £1717 and upcoming £1738 and against earlier fixes around £1690.

And now a 12m at £1605, same as early Oct.
