..good luck!!. We wanted the same, just a "dumb" storage heater with one E7 connection. We are "in all day", so happy for a bit of "heat leakage".....Bottom line is we could not find one!! All the new ones really need 2 suppplies, or at least one which is on 24/7 to run the timer..."It's everybody's fault but mine...."0

Old storage heater refurbs are your friend and dirt cheap. Check ebay.1

The cut out switch keeps tripping , I’m presuming thermostat
but I’ve looking , lots of variations in them even thou they say they fit the xt240 -
The XL series will also be worth a look if looking at refurbs. That said though, you would do better going for a newer High Heat Retention model as the ability of those to release the heat when it's needed is far, far better.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Problem then is they need 2 supplies , I’ve only got one for my xt240

XLNs certainly work on a single supply.
Getting the second supply installed isn't necessarily that expensive either - it could be worth asking your electrician how much they would charge for that. the newer HHR models like the Quantums can be used on a single supply but you have to be spot on with the programming to fit your off peak times or things will get expensive.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

If you own the property and intend to stay a reasonable time I'd agree with the recommendation that it's worth considering investing in an HHR NSH such as Dimplex Quantum. Admittedly they're not cheap to buy and install, but you'll make worthwhile savings year after year because it won't be wasting heat when it's not needed. If the cost of electricity continues to rise then the saving will be even greater. It will also make the property more attractive when the time comes to sell, so it would probably fetch a higher price and sell more quickly. If you have a mortgage it might be possible to increase the amount borrowed; you could then make extra repayments out of the energy savings.Make sure you're claiming all the benefits to which you're entitled. You'll have paid in over the years, so now it's payback time. There are also various grants available which might help, e.g. from British Gas (even if you're not a customer of theirs). Citizens Advice may be able to help.Sorry if all that sounds patronising, but I know what it's like. Many years ago I was made redundant after having changed jobs, bought a new home with a mega mortgage and in a recession as well. I eventually found a good permanent job but there were many sleepless nights wondering whether the house would be sold above my head for half what I'd paid, they'd give me a fiver and tell me to leave !0 -
my mortgage is finished , and I’m never moving
I’ve spoken to the electrician who said he can do the extra wiring for not that much money , the main cost is the heaters …
but I need a new consumer unit so that’s priority….thats £8500
