Not yet phoned to book, will tomorrow.

Currenrtly have standard PAYG meters.

The gas has credit on the card but not working/topping up as the gas meter battery is low - hence need to change - may as well get electric done same time.

What happens to the credit on the card?

Access to the current meters is no issue, plenty of space.

However do they need to access to the boiler? Do they need access to the flat roof to investigate the flue?  As access/investigate to the boiler and flat roof is going to need a bit of work for adequate space.

What happens to the current credit on these meters?

Anything I need to prep for electric meter change?

They can transfer it to your new account, it does sometimes take a few days unfortunately.

They do not need access to the flue but they do need access to the boiler to check it comes back on safely, that there is not air in the pipe etc. after they install the new meter.

Make sure you take readings of both meters and the credit on them if you can, take pictures. Ask the engineer to confirm how much credit is on them as well so you have a verification and then you can make sure that gets added to your account when they install the new smart meters.

If they can't access the boiler, they will still install a new meter. Nut the supply will be capped until you can get a Gas Safe engineer in to do the safety checks. Much easier & cheaper to let the meter installer do the checks and leave you with a working boiler.
