3 5G router as just a modem?
Hi, I am considering trying the 3 5G broadband, but I would prefer to keep using my own router. It looks like on some pictures there is a WAN port on their router, does anyone know if you can use their box in 'modem mode' just to feed internet to my router. Its how I do it with Virgin router currently. Second, does anyone…

Three and BT broadband
So currently with BT and out of contract. Now £38 month for fibre 2 with landline going to £44 after April. Fibre to cabinet only so 15mb / 0.5mb if lucky. Thinking of going to three home broadband as mast at top of Road and giving up landlines. Question is, should three hike prices later how expensive is it to get…

No live landline connection - how to switch?
When I moved into this property I just transferred my Virgin package (phone and b/band) and didn't get the BT landline connected. Now I want to switch to a cheaper deal and have started "migrating" my emails to a gmail account but not sure how to go about getting the landline connection up and running. Do I get the…

Annual Broadband and Phone charges increases
I would like to call on OFCOM to stop these unnecessary annual
increases. Which?'s latest broadband survey has shown that BT Group,
which includes BT, EE and Plusnet, will be pushing ahead with 14.4 per cent
rises for many of their customers. The contract rises have been branded "hugely concerning" and
"difficult to…

Full Fibre (FTTP) - Choice of Providers
Fibre optic cable is currently being laid in new underground ducting outside my home by one of the smaller network providers ( Swish Fibre). They are already encouraging me to register for their Full Fibre ( FTTP) service once their network becomes active. My question is will I have a choice of ISP once the cable is laid…

Broadband Price Increases
Hi, how often are broadband companies allowed to increase prices? I am with Shell & they have increased my price twice in a year, the next one due in April. I have looked on the OFCOM site & can't find an answer on there. TIA, Andy.

Plusnet price increases even though Im in a contract
Hi, Im in a 24 month contract with Plusnet. Id assumed (probably wrongly) that the benefit of tying myself into a 24 month contract was that the price was fixed for those 24 months. I have another 8 months til my contract ends. Today Plusnet have said my price will be going up by 3.9%. Is that right? Thanks

Moving Home
I have just off the phone to Shell Energy whom I have my broadband service with s I'm moving property. They have informed me if I move I will no longer have superfast fibre and will have to drop to the lower speed band. Which is understandable due to different areas having different cabling. She then informed me not only…

Recent Virgin price hike
Hi all. Received my annual email from Virgin regarding their price hike today. Currently pay £27 per month for the Internet only. Appatantly, it's at 125mb. The email has informed me that they plan to increase it by £7 per month from 1st May. That's an increase of around 30% for us. I think this seems steep. Am I wrong? I…

Looking for a bit of help as getting perplexed! I moved to new house on 20th Jan. The previous owners had never had internet and had lived in the house since built 20 years ago. The home report says it does have a BT phoneline. In the previous house i had Sky Broadband and TV. However Sky said i couldn't get their…

Totally stuck for a broadband and (possibly) TV solution
I've tried hard to consider what to do but I've hit a brick wall. I've been with Virgin Media for a long time. They provide me with a Bigger
Bundle’, since known as ‘Legacy’:* TV: Mixit package (no add-on packages). Two V6 boxes (one in lounge, one in guest room). * Broadband (M350) * Phone line. I'm 'out of contract'.I'm…

BT not even trying to keep me. A general pattern or just me?
I'm sure there are lots of internal details, that it depends on the area, etc.But I have been with BT for 5 years. I'm with Fibre 2 (74 Mbps down / 20 Mbps up) at £35.67/month with a £6/month discount = £29.74/month. On the website, right now, they offer it for £33.99/month, £16.99/month for the first 6 months. Vodafone…

moving house: keep same acct or start as new customer?
I will move house soon. I am satisfied with current broadband provider, and I am no longer under contract. If I want to stay with current broadband provider, do I have to stay on my current account with them, or can I apply for service at new address as a new customer? A new customer can get one of the advertised deals; an…

Price hikes – take a deal now, or wait until April?
My wife and I have just moved and don't have broadband at our new address yet. We can survive off our mobile data and local wifi hotspots for a while, so I'm wondering what we should do. There are good deals being offered at the moment, but I'm assuming that's because we'd be locked for 12+ months into a price 14—17%…

Unacceptable increase in cost
Virgin Media have just increased my
monthly payments by over 22% for Fibre M250, TV Package and PAYG Home
phone. Also removing the option to opt
out of the contract from April next year, without exit charge if I disagree
with next and subsequent years increase. That increase will be
linked to the Retail Price Index (RPI)…

What's the deal with VOIP???
My parents are in the process of switching broadband from Virgin to Utility Warehouse. Since they're moving to a fully-fibre service (no copper anymore), and UW don't seem to offer any kind of VOIP service, it's just become apparent that they're going to lose their landline. This wasn't clearly explained when they arranged…

Appalling Virgin Media Cancellation service
Ever tried cancelling a Virgin Media contract? Once you get past the Bots you've then got to contend with Retentions who follow a strict script (offered £10 off), then Cancellations who follow a strict script, who offered a further £10 off. My Mother is 100+ and only watches Challenge & Sky Arts and was paying £70/mth…
