FTTC will I need a new master socket installed?

Have recently given Virgin media\NTL notice after 21yrs. Our only other option is FTTC but not sure if we have an acceptable master socket.
When NTL did the installation they put a phone socket in the hallway but the wiring runs back to the same junction box as their broadband & TV cable. Is it likely a new FTTC ISP provider will be able to use this NTL phone socket or will I likely have to pay Openreach to install a new master socket?

You don’t pay Openreach anything, if Virgin have illegally interfered with property that wasn’t theirs then it may impact the delivery of the service from whatever provider you chose , but in the overwhelming number of cases it costs the ISP next to nothing, and it costs you nothing , if there is a fee ( mostly a fee for starting a line ) the ISP picks up the fee , and it’s amortised over the minimum term , so from your point of you , you pay whatever you agreed, there is no surprise fee , even if significant work is needed.
If there has been no service over the Openreach reach network for 21 years , then you may get an appointment and any work needed is undertaken on that visit , they may try to remotely start the service, if it works , great , if it doesn’t then they deal with it an an early life failure, often if it’s a start ( so no engineer turns up ) you get a text saying the service should be working , but if it isn’t text back and they send a technician out .
There isn’t really any unacceptable master sockets , it could be less than ideally wired with extension wiring for example , but if you can plug a phone in , you can plug a filter in , and plug the router into the filter , so even an old socket is compatible, but if you end up with a visit then they may well change the socket for one with built in filtering .

Virgin NTL infrastructure is completely separate. So no other ISP can use the existing stuff that they installed.
New ISP install will likely need an all new line from dwelling to Openreach cabinet, and certainly a new master socket. Depending on location it may mean you have to go fibre to premises as they have stopped new copper installations?
If ISPs are quoting for FTTP they will get Openreach to do the necessary.1 -
