Currently on 500 FTTP via openreach and SKY. Deal coming to end in June but can leave now with rise. Don't use landline ever and have on router RT-AX86U Pro.
My options are :-
1. Stay with openreach on FTTP
Benefits are they can switch me without me contacting sky during 30 day grace of price rise.
Don't need install from cityfibre on driveway
Cheapest can find is plusnet 500 at 32.99 and £75 reward card.
2. Virgin Media install
Can get 1gb for £39 but would need install.
3. Choice of nearly all cityfibre providers
Benefits are most have fixed premium.
Cheapest is vodafone (not fixed) who are offering me 900 download and upload (never had issues with the 70 upload get on openreach) for £31 a month.
Negatives is install
Summary
So I'm jumping back and forth really between plusnet, a fixed price cityfibre with static ip and vodafone to be honest
Would welcome another few voices of thought!!!

You couldn't pay me to take a service from Vodafone, they mess up many migrations and their customer service is awful.
Plusnet have much better service, but would not be able to do a phone service if you wanted that on FTTP.1 -

Excavation on your property should be to your router postion and should be at right angles to your house.

The Openreach based FTTP providers at the moment tend to be slightly more expensive than the others, but then it's still currently the largest nationwide dispersed wholesale provider at the moment and prices have been coming down overall over time for the same like for like products.
I'm not sure if you want to stick with 500Mbps or would consider Gigabit products, If you're interested in Gigabit, then I'd recommend Aquiss. Their Ultrafast Pure Full Fibre 1000 service is £55 a month with the first 6 months half price at £27.50. So the Average monthly price works out to £41.25. It's a 12 month contract with No price rises during and no price rise after the contract either (so you just continue at the monthly rate of £55 rolling). They have Excellent customer service (answer the phone very quickly) and are a family run business. Been operating for just under 20 years. You can use your own Router. You get a Static IP included.
You have a really good Asus router by the way.
For good customer service, I'd recommend checking out the ISPreviews website and the Reviews section. They have customer reviews and a list of the top rated broadband providers for customer service. IDNet (offer rolling contracts), Aquiss (as above), A&A and a few others have very high customer service ratings and no price rises.
For 500Mbps, the Plusnet price does look to be the cheapest (except perhaps the "new customer introductory offer Sky price"), though there will be price increases and a long 24 months contract. As someone mentioned above, Vodafone customer service is sadly generally speaking very poor. The CityFibre based provider prices will probably be cheaper overall (and though they haven't really come down like Openreach wholesale prices, they haven't gone up) and you get symmetrical speeds so there is that.0
